Experienced a first (and one of my biggest fears) during a session this past weekend… a visit from the cops 😬
One of the nice things about doing most of my sessions on military bases (besides getting to serve fellow military families) is that the land is not private property. The bad thing is that much of the land is used for training, and my fear whenever I find a new location on post is that I’ll be mid session and the MP’s will show up and tell me I’m not allowed to be there.
On this occasion, we had parked on the side of the road and ventured further down a tank trail than I intended due to following the whims of a four year old when, mid session, we hear “is anyone back there?” My client and I head down the trail to meet the man, and sure enough, it’s an MP. Turns out he wasn’t worried about us being somewhere we weren’t supposed to be. He just saw the cars on the side of the road and an empty infant car seat on the trail and assumed the worst. Good on him for doing his job well!! But next time I think I’ll stick a little closer to the cars haha.
What an exciting way to close out my last session of 2024! And a fitting way too as 2024 was a year that threw us some unexpected (but exciting!) curve balls, and I don’t think 2025 is going to be any different.
