After 15 years of photographing families, I’ve learned something I wish every parent knew.

You don’t need to have it all together to deserve beautiful memories.

Your kids don’t need a perfectly coordinated family, a spotless house, or a mom who feels completely comfortable in front of the camera.

They just need YOU.

I’ve watched families walk into sessions worried about how their kids will behave or whether everyone will cooperate. And I’ve watched those same families leave laughing, hugging, and realizing they just spent an hour truly enjoying each other.

Because somewhere along the way, a photo session becomes something more.

It’s a chance to slow down. To reconnect. To see the beautiful life you’ve built from a different perspective.

And years from now, those photographs will remind you of what it felt like to be right here, together.

That’s what I hope every family takes away from their time with me. 🤍

Rich in life. And I don’t mean financially. 🤍

I mean rich in experiences, friendships, freedom, creativity, and the incredible people I’ve met along the way.

What started as a love for photography has become so much more than a business. It’s given me the opportunity to be present for my family, build meaningful relationships, travel to beautiful places, and document some of the most important moments in people’s lives.

Not every day is easy. Running a business certainly comes with its challenges. But even after all these years, I still feel incredibly fortunate that I get to call this my job.

And that, to me, is a pretty beautiful kind of wealth.

One of my favorite things about being the Head of Community for National Association of Portrait & Child Photographers is getting to witness firsthand just how special this photography community truly is. ❤️

When you bring photographers together, something pretty amazing happens!

We talk photography, share business advice, exchange ideas, inspire one another, laugh until our cheeks hurt, explore incredible places, and of course… find any excuse to pull out our cameras for an EPIC shootout! 📸

But the best part? The friendships and connections that last long after the cameras are packed away.

That’s what makes the National Association of Portrait and Child Photographers so special. It’s so much more than a professional organization. It’s a community of creatives who genuinely want to see one another succeed. A place to learn, grow, collaborate, celebrate each other’s wins, and find people who just GET IT!

Having a community like this in an industry where we often work alone is truly something special, and I’m so grateful to be a part of it.

If you’re a photographer looking for connection, inspiration, friendship, and a place to belong, we would LOVE to welcome you into our National Association of Portrait & Child Photographers family!

Your people are here. ❤️

So… WHO WANTS IN!? 🙋‍♀️📸

Photographer Math.

A $7 coffee? Absolutely not. In this economy?!

A $2,500 lens? Well, technically it’s a business investment. 😂

A new camera bag? Necessary. Even though I already own five.

Another lens? But this one does something slightly different.

New lighting equipment? It’s basically a tax write-off, right?!

And don’t even get me started on the presets, editing software, backdrops, and all the little accessories that somehow end up in my cart. 🤣

But here’s the thing… we work HARD, and sometimes we just need to treat ourselves. And by “treat ourselves,” I obviously mean buying more photography equipment.

Tell me I’m not alone in this?! 😂

What’s the last thing you bought for your photography business that you convinced yourself you absolutely NEEDED?
I’ll go first- mine was an electric backdrop roller… 🫣 😂

Senior photos are about so much more than showing up and smiling for the camera.

It’s the planning. The outfits. The locations. The anticipation leading up to the day. It’s watching a girl step in front of my camera a little nervous and then slowly seeing her confidence take over as she realizes just how beautiful she is.

That’s the part I love most.

Senior year is such a fleeting season — one foot still in childhood and the other already stepping into whatever comes next. And I truly believe every girl deserves to have this moment celebrated and to walk away from her session feeling confident, beautiful and seen.

These will be some of the most important photographs she’ll ever have. Years from now, alongside her wedding photos and other major milestones, these images will tell the story of exactly who she was at this incredible moment in her life.

That’s why senior photography is worth the investment.

You’re not simply investing in photographs. You’re giving her an experience, a memory and a reminder of how beautiful and capable she felt right before she stepped out into the world.

And THAT is exactly why I love what I do.
Ps- here are just a few of my favorites from Audrey’s session… full gallery coming soon!!

Senior year is a whirlwind. Between college applications, sports, school events, and all the lasts, there’s SO much happening.
Your senior portraits shouldn’t add to the stress.
My job? To take the guesswork out of the experience. I’ll help you plan, find your style, feel comfortable in front of the camera, and create images that feel authentically YOU.
And Mom, I’ve got you, too. You deserve to enjoy this milestone without having to coordinate every little detail.
Because senior year isn’t just about where they’re going next. It’s about celebrating who they are RIGHT NOW.
