To anyone just starting their photography business, please don’t feel like you have to know everything right away. Don’t compare your beginning to someone else’s tenth year. Don’t let someone else’s success make you feel like you’re falling behind. And please, don’t give up just because you’re not where you want to be yet.
You cannot expect to grow into the photographer you want to become if you give up on the photographer you are today. 🤍
Keep practicing. Keep studying. Keep creating, even when you feel like nobody is watching. Be consistent, even when the results aren’t immediate. Every session, every edit, every mistake, and every lesson is an opportunity to become better at what you do.
And most importantly, invite God into your business.
Don’t just ask Him to bless the results. Invite Him into the process. Pray over your business, your clients, your decisions, your creativity, and the direction you’re going. Ask Him for wisdom when you don’t know what to do, patience when things aren’t moving as quickly as you’d hoped, and discernment when you have to make difficult decisions.
There will be seasons when business feels exciting and everything seems to fall into place. There will also be seasons when you question yourself, feel discouraged, or wonder if you’re doing enough. Those difficult seasons don’t automatically mean you’re on the wrong path.
Sometimes, you still have more to learn. Sometimes, you need to make a change. And sometimes, you simply need to be patient and trust God while continuing to do your part.
Faith doesn’t mean sitting back and expecting everything to happen for you. It means trusting God while being willing to put in the work, grow through the process, and remain faithful in the little things.
