That one time I made my husband a pot of chili from scratch ... and then he asked me whether I bought canned chili and put it in a pot and stirred it instead. 😭. ⠀

This just shows to you all lovely people how bad of a cook I am! Even though I spent an hour looking for Masa Harina at the local grocery store!!! Made it from scratch and I even baked corn bread on the side!!! 😩😩😩😩⠀

If you’re wondering though the man is still alive but he almost died that day! 😂⠀
⠀
So today the moral of the story is give the man what he asked for since that’s one of the components of what he’s having for dinner - canned chili. And I don’t even feel remorseful about it. Not one tiny bit!⠀

If any of you have a good recipe for chili care to share with me?! Maybe one day I’ll take a stab at it again! 😂😂😂⠀

We all need that one person we can just lean on to or better yet climb up to whenever we’re having an off day! I know I do that with my Darling Hubster. And being all cuddled up in his big hug just somehow magically makes everything better! Life is really better when you have that person! ⠀

The feeling of running away. I can feel this brewing for quite some time now and I couldn’t quite pinpoint what it is... it’s almost like a storm coming hovering in the air. It must be the tornado watch and warnings we’ve been having the last couple of days here in Oklahoma that got me feeling this way. I always have that itch to start something - to create something with my hands. ⠀
⠀
And so I “runaway” to reset and to clear my head. And it is so good for my soul and for my creative heart. I can tell you that this Editorial shoot came just in the right time. It’s exactly what I needed to come back home to my Darling Hubster a renewed person. A much better wife - less crabby and a happier version of myself. What a day can do for yourself! ⠀

I am always so thankful for my partner in life who let me go each time knowing that I’ll keep coming back after I do my quick runaway wife! 😂⠀

Hi there! Rika here! The girl behind the camera! I haven’t done any since I started this page a year ago and so I think it’s time to share some tidbits about moi! ⠀

- I love cross stitching. It’s my other hobby and everyday I try to find the time to stab tiny little holes to create beautiful pieces! It’s just so therapeutic for me and it’s so fulfilling once it’s fully done! You can see some of my needlepoint here where I share what I am currently working on! I have about 25 current projects!!!! 🤭. But I love it so so much!⠀

-I have a passion for volunteering. It’s a joke between my Darling Hubster that I should put “professional volunteer” in my resume! But it is fulfilling to me to know I can contribute to my community no matter how small it is. Wherever we go I keep it mind to “grow where I’m planted” and to enrich the community we currently live in. ⠀

- I am obsessed with European candy bars! My friend Kett hooked me up big time when we lived in Carlisle PA that she will give me tubs of the milk chocolate goodness every time her two boys come to the US for a visit! So now I have a secret stash of Lion Candy bars hidden from the DH somewhere in the house! 🤫⠀
