only way to make an engagement session at the lake better? bring your dog. 🤩🌊⚓️☀️🐶

cass + joe get married this weekend, so no better time to share their amazing lake session from last season, only made BETTER by their incredible mer-dog Norman.

Cassie was in a near fatal jeep crash a few years ago, so you can see in some of the photos in the carousel, the tenderness and care with which joe is always ready to help bend down, lift her up, or be a guide on shaky ground - just like their real life. it’s a miracle (/a lot of fu***ng hard work) that she’ll be able to walk down the aisle this weekend, but since the accident, one of the biggest joys in her life is just being able to be at the lake with her people, particularly, her boys, so we knew it was the perfect place for them to enjoy their engagement session, relax, be themselves (and watch Norman be an absolute goofball in the water).

can’t wait to celebrate them so soon - catch me holding the fathead of Norman on the dance floor on Saturday!!!!

rachel + hayden in lincoln park, with some big news 💍

hayden had to hide the ring in his sock (you can see his tucked jeans on the first slide) because as any guy who’s dating a photographer knows…first rule of business is nothing in your pockets during a shoot! it was actually Hayden and I’s first time meeting in person, so rachel had no reason to think that we’d been scheming earlier in the week about locations and all of his plans. rachel is a huge type a planner, so we were pretty pleased with ourselves for being able to pull of the surprise 😉

this is easily one of the most special moments in my career so far. rachel has been a huge influence on my photography journey, bringing me along to weddings as a second shooter in 2022 and teaching me basically anything i was willing to learn. since, she’s basically become my industry big sister - being there to help my business grow, needle me in a million ways, and literally give me some of her hand me down clothes LOL so so so thankful i got to capture this moment for one of my best friends!

hey hi hello!!!

long time no check in - happy may!!! 🌼💕🍃🐞💌

as weather warms up and schedules start getting busier, i’ve been taking some extra time to reflect on what a slower season has given me some time to do in the last few months. some major highlights include
- lots of dog walks with my crew
- celebrating one year of marriage with a winning Cubs game at Wrigley
- brunches with friends
- starting a book club and a regular fitness class (hey !!!!)
- doing so many crafts with my hands
- reflection on 5 years in this business - the highs and lows, the good/bad/ugly, what i do really well and what i’m still really not great at. how can i become better all the time?

year 5 for this little business of mine and im so proud to be serving you. 💌
