Asher Phinehas! 💙

There aren’t words to articulate the goodness of God in our lives. It has been one of the greatest gifts to anticipate the arrival of our 4th child. It still doesn’t seem real that the Lord has entrusted us to love and raise another sweet son. Praise be to God! 🙌🏼

Asher means “blessed”. We pray he always blesses the name of the Lord and blesses others with the good news of Jesus Christ. ♥️

God made a covenant of peace/perpetual priesthood with Phinehas in the Old Testament in response to Phinehas’s zeal for the Lord and his bravery. We pray Asher will be zealous for the Lord and will point others to the only true & everlasting God.

Sweet boy, you are created for God’s glory and we are forever grateful God has planned your precious life since the very beginning. We will remind you every day of the gift that you are and the faithful Father who has a good and glorious plan for you. ♥️

Oh my goodness! I truly can’t believe this past weekend was REAL! God is so kind & so so good! Every single second was just a gift!

We met up with my childhood best friend in Columbus with her family on Saturday at the kids’ race! They all did amazing & it was so precious watching them run and cheer each other on! We picked up our bibs at the expo and that’s when the race feels like it’s really happening! Then we got to attend church together like we did growing up, it brought back so many awesome memories. 😭♥️.

The race was Sunday morning. It would be Maria’s 12th half marathon and my 1st FULL marathon. I honestly never thought I’d actually run a full in my life. I signed up for this exact full marathon 7 years ago but then got pregnant with Reid and didn’t do it. I signed up this year wondering if I’d finally make it happen 7 years later. We started off the race and we ran the first 10-11 miles together. It was beyond special running the majority of the first half together. ♥️.

I had been sick leading up to the race and wasn’t sure how my body would hold up for the full marathon. I gave myself permission to turn and finish the half if I knew my body wouldn’t be able to make the full. However, the Lord sustained me and I felt like I had to give the full a shot because I knew I still had more to give! I texted Damon and told him I was going for the full. He met me with the kids around 12.5 miles and it was so good to see them! I turned on and cruised into miles 13-17. Mile 18 was a shock and my body started slowing way down. I had never hit the “wall” on any of my long runs before so it was discouraging and frustrating to feel so tried with 8 miles left to go. I wanted to stop so badly. I kept telling myself I could stop once I made it one more mile, but I never did. I kept going and Damon surprised me with the kids at 22.5 miles. I got choked up when I hugged them because I was hurting pretty bad. I kept going and knew I’d regret if I stopped so close to the finish. Maria & her parents cheered me on at mile 26 and Damon and the kids cheered me on at the finish line! (Continued in the comments)

Just celebrated all the birthdays of these precious souls over the past 2 months! I absolutely adore celebrating my people. It’s such a joy making them feel loved & known. All the late night baking, all the homemade decorations and all the simple family memories we create together - I hope these are the moments that mark their childhood & they remember how much we have always loved them. ♥️.

Also beyond obsessed with our photos from ! Still kind of feels like a dream for her to photograph us as a family of 5! 🙌🏼♥️😭

All the money raised through this event will go to love on mamas/families who have lost babies too soon. We will be purchasing “memorial songs” from “Mama Sing My Song” to gift to families who have had late term losses and/or stillbirths. Every life is valuable and worth celebrating. “Mama Sing My Song” is partnering with us for this event and giving us a discount so we will be able to purchase 5 additional songs with the money that is raised, 17 songs in total!! 🙌🏼

All the mamas who sign up for the event will receive a discount code as well!!!! How generous of Mama Sing My Song!! They are the best company and have such kind hearts behind their business! ♥️

Registration goes LIVE tonight at 9 PM to my email list! You will pay the full $50 to secure your session through the scheduling system. Each session will be 3 minutes in length, I promise you’ll be surprised at the amazing photos we will capture in such a short time!

The little dimpled hands, the precious little curls, the way your baby fits so perfectly on your hip like you were both made for each other - because you absolutely and totally are! ♥️ It is an honor to capture mamas and their babies and the precious love they have for each other.

Impatiently waiting to hear from a past bride when their baby girl has arrived. I’m ready for another newborn session, but I’m not prepared to realize how much Eden has grown when I see how tiny a fresh newborn is. She’s only 2 months old but she’s already grown so much and I may be in denial a little bit about it.

While I’m waiting, I’ll just reminisce on this beautiful session of my sweet friend and her adorable family. Our baby girls are exactly 1 month apart and it’s so special how we’ve walked through motherhood together since our first babies were just a few months old. ♥️

You know it’s a good session when you look through the images afterwards and feel all the vibes. 😍 The in between moments of my time with a family that truly tell their story. That’s what I love so much about ‘s work and what I desire to provide for my clients.

This first image is hands down one of my favorite I’ve ever taken. It was completely candid. Sweet little Andy was taking a break from photos but he decided to run into the frame with grass in his hands and stand right beside his mama. His little mischievous smile over to his dad because he knew he wasn’t supposed to be in the photo. His mama’s hands so gently touching him the way she does every day.

Photos like this can be recreated and posed but then there’s no story behind them. Candid photos like this truly full my heart with joy because it wasn’t created, it was a few seconds during our session when Andy shows his cute personality and his mama showed her tender love for her sweet boy.

Who else is with me on this?? Candid precious moments over posed/staged moments. Let the staged ones be of everyone looking at the camera, and leave the candid ones to truly be candid. If the candid ones are posed - they really aren’t that candid after all. The candid photos should tell a true story - those are my favorite every. single. time. ♥️

Just thinking about how excited I am for this year’s weddings and how warm weather cannot come soon enough!

Does everyone else become filled with joy at the sight of sunshine these days or is it just me?! Sometimes I even text my husband to take a break from work just so we can go on a walk together and enjoy the sun on our faces. My boys have even started saying “Mom, it’s going to be a good day, the sun is out!”. 😂 I like to think I’m training them well to appreciate the little things in life.
