As America celebrates its 250th anniversary, Iā€™ve been thinking about the extraordinary beauty Iā€™ve had the privilege of photographing across this country.

From the Pacific coast of California to the frozen shores of Lake Michiganā€¦ from the quiet mystery of the Smoky Mountains to the warm light of Floridaā€™s Atlantic coastā€”this country has given me an endless canvas.

Different landscapes. Different seasons. Different stories.

And yet, all part of one beautiful country. ā¤ļø

This image represents much more than a lighthouse. It reminds me of standing on the frozen ice, feeling the cold, watching the changing light, and experiencing one of those unforgettable moments that makes me love photography.

Some places stay with you.

Not because of how they lookā€¦ but because of how they make you feel.

This was one of those mornings.

The water was still, the air was quiet, and for a moment it felt like everything had slowed down enough to just be present.

Iā€™ve titled this piece The Sound of Quietā€”and itā€™s one that has meant more to me the more Iā€™ve sat with it.

There are places you come across that donā€™t ask anything from youā€¦
no noise, no rush, no expectations.

Just quiet.

I remember standing here and feeling like time slowed down for a moment. The kind of place where you just breathe a little deeper without even realizing it.

That feeling stayed with me long after I leftā€¦ and thatā€™s what I wanted to capture in this piece.

A place you can step into anytime you need it.

With summer just around the corner, this one feels especially fitting ā€” it has that warmth, that stillness, that sense of being near the water on a quiet day.
