Its familiar continental outline is shaped by dense clouds of interstellar dust that obscure the glowing hydrogen gas behind them, carving out prominent

Did some equipment testing last night. Not bad for a single 10 minute exposure. Wind got me though, and I had to shut it down early. I will say, moving from Bortle 9 to Bortle 3 ain't half bad.

To all my friends out there who are going to want to check out the upcoming solar eclipse, make sure you get a pair of good solar glasses for it before they sell out. Glasses are needed for any moment the sun is visible at all, even when partially eclipsed.

You also have to be careful about where you get the glasses from. Some of these glasses sold on Amazon are just glorified sunglasses, and do not meet any safety standards or regulations. Here is a link to the Explore Scientific store where you can get a legit pair of solar glasses that have been tested and meet ASTM requirements.

Watch the Total Eclipse Event on April 8th, 2024 in safety, comfort, and style. Made with an advanced impregnated polymer filter material. These safe solar filtered solar viewing glasses are the ultimate in protection, and produce a natural yellow-orange solar image.
