Had a great time this weekend helping CQ out with intervews at Awesome Con. We even had the opportunity to interview Morena Baccarin immediately after the Firefly panel it was announced that the cast would be reuiniting for an animated Firefly series!

ACU honors military service with Wear Blue: Run to Remember and Capturing Honor photo contest at DuPont HQ.

I was surprised and honored to learn that my photo submission placed first in a photo contest capturing memories recent events that involved wear blue: run to remember ! The DuPont Chamber of Commerce flew me out to Seattle and for a reception hosted by youracu to be recognized for my capture of a crisp morning in the nation's capital for a morning 'Shake Out' run the day before the Marine Corps Marathon. I was recognized and able to express my gratitude while describing what inspired me in capturing that moment. The entire experience was humbling and the contest raised an incredible $6,000 for wear blue!

I was also invited to attend the weekly, Saturday morning, DuPont JBLM wear blue community run. This is where and how 'wear blue: run to remember' started 15 years ago and has been taking place every week since then. CW3 Frank Buoniconti and CPT Anne "Rocky" Rockeman Montgomery were beautifully honored along with other service members that have given the ultimate sacrifice by reading their name and rank out loud. Following the ceremony, we ran (mostly 😉) a dedicated three mile course through the DuPont community where volunteers display more memorials of fallen service members.
