A main concern for any photographer is to make sure that your clients feel 100000% comfortable and not all awkward.

If you’ve worked with me before, you know I love to get goofy, be your #1 hype girl, and I always have music playing.

Pro tip: if you’re uncomfortable being in front of a camera and always feel like you don’t know what to do, do an activity!

Do something that is meaningful to you or something that helps bring out your personality.

Story time📖

For those of you who don’t know, My first name is actually Raquel.

Rocky is a nickname that was given to me in 7th grade by my gym teacher after much struggle saying my name😂. The kids in my class thought it was cool, so it stuck in middle school.

In high school, I had the same problem. My English teacher could not say my name no matter how many times I corrected him, so I told him he could call me Rocky and from then on, the name stuck with all the teachers and students.

In college, the SAME THING. My English professor didn’t even try and just called me Rachel🙄, and so I suggested Rocky and he still switched between Rachel and Rocky.

For years, having butcher my name from Rochelle, Rachel, and Rockel 😂, It was really hard for me to decide my business name. I really wanted to do something creative but still represent me. Even though I was dying to put my name on those papers, I knew I was gonna have to face the difficulty peole butchering my name and I didn’t want that.

Hence, Rocky’s Photography. I decided to just own my nickname. Now, I get compliments on my business name and I have no regrets whatsoever.

Anyone else have a problem with people saying your name?👋

Howdy everybody! It’s me, Rocky.

I’ve been a little MIA lately, and it’s only because I’m refreshing my brand from the backend. I just came back from a retreat (I’ll post content soon) and decided to take a break from social media to reset myself and my business.
