One last ride.

Celebration del Toro brought the 2026 North Texas Fair & Rodeo to a close with color, culture, tradition, incredible horsemanship and plenty of action.

After days of rodeo, Bull Blowout and everything in between, this was one hell of a way to finish it.

Tired? Absolutely.
Grateful? Even more.

Another North Texas Fair & Rodeo is in the books, and I’m thankful I was there with cameras in hand to tell a little piece of its story.

CELEBRACIÓN DEL TORO — WHAT A WAY TO CLOSE IT OUT.
The final night of the 2026 North Texas Fair & Rodeo brought an entirely different kind of energy to the arena.
Celebración del Toro was a night filled with color, culture, beautiful horses, incredible horsemanship, traditional dancers, young cowboys and cowgirls—and, of course, plenty of bulls, dirt and action.
From the flowing dresses catching that beautiful late-afternoon light to the detail and pride carried by the horses and riders, there seemed to be a photograph everywhere I turned. Then the sun went down and the bulls took over, and things got considerably less peaceful in a hurry.
That contrast is what I loved about photographing this night.
Beauty and power. Tradition and adrenaline. Grace and danger. Generations coming together in the same arena to celebrate a culture and way of life that means so much to so many people.
After a long run at the North Texas Fair & Rodeo, this was one hell of a way to put a bow on 2026.
Lisa and I are grateful once again for the opportunity to document it—not just the action, but the people, traditions and little moments that tell the bigger story.

WHAT A WAY TO CLOSE OUT THE BULL BLOWOUT!
The final night of bull riding at the 2026 North Texas Fair & Rodeo brought everything you could ask for—great bulls, talented riders, incredible bullfighters, flying dirt and plenty of moments that happened a whole lot faster than the shutter could click.
These are a few of my favorites from the final performance. I’ve always loved photographing bull riding because there’s no script. You watch, anticipate, trust your instincts and try to be in the right place when everything comes together for a fraction of a second.
A huge thank you to everyone at the North Texas Fair & Rodeo, the contestants, bullfighters, stock contractors, arena crew and all the folks behind the scenes who make nights like this possible.
Lisa and I have thoroughly enjoyed photographing the Fair & Rodeo again this year. It’s been a long run, but a damn good one.
Tonight we put a bow on the 2026 North Texas Fair & Rodeo.

ONE MORE NIGHT…
After days of rodeo, bulls, cowboys, flags, carnival lights, fair food, families, traffic, music and thousands of people moving through the grounds, the 2026 North Texas Fair & Rodeo comes down to one final night.
From the ground, you experience the Fair one moment at a time.
From the air—and especially watching it all move through a timelapse—you begin to see something completely different. The flags running through the arena, the traffic flowing in and out, the carnival spinning and flashing, the rodeo arena coming alive and an entire fairground moving almost like one living thing.
That's what I love about photographs and video. Sometimes you don't really see the whole story until you change your perspective.
Lisa and I have thoroughly enjoyed photographing the North Texas Fair & Rodeo again this year. It's been a long week, a lot of miles on the cameras—and probably a few on us too—but we wouldn't trade the memories or the photographs we've made.
Tonight is the final night of the 2026 North Texas Fair & Rodeo, and we'll be there to finish what we started.
If you've been part of the Fair this year—whether you competed, worked it, volunteered, performed, brought your family or just came out to enjoy a little North Texas tradition—thank you for giving us so much to photograph.

ONE MORE NIGHT…
After days of rodeo, bulls, cowboys, flags, carnival lights, fair food, families, traffic, music and thousands of people moving through the grounds, the 2026 North Texas Fair & Rodeo comes down to one final night.

PERFORMANCE TWO — BULLS BLOWOUT!
Night two of the Bulls Blowout at the North Texas Fair & Rodeo brought another arena full of big bulls, tough cowboys and some pretty spectacular wrecks.
Bull riding is eight seconds of controlled chaos when everything goes right—and sometimes just plain chaos when it doesn't.
And once again, the bullfighters were right in the middle of it. These guys don't get enough credit for what they do. When 1,500-plus pounds of bad attitude decides he's not finished yet, they're the ones running toward him while everybody else's common sense says RUN THE OTHER WAY.
From the rides to the wrecks, the saves and those split-second moments that happen before you can even think about them, Performance Two gave us plenty to photograph.
The North Texas Fair & Rodeo is heading into its final stretch. More Bulls Blowout action tonight, followed by the Mexican Rodeo on Sunday to close out the Fair.

NIGHT ONE OF THE BULLS BLOWOUT IS IN THE BOOKS!
Last night the North Texas Fair & Rodeo turned the arena over to the bulls—and they came ready to work.
Big bulls. Tough rides. Hard landings. Bullfighters running toward trouble instead of away from it. And all those little moments behind the chutes that remind me there is always more to rodeo than the eight seconds everybody came to see.
That's what I love about photographing this sport. The action gets your attention, but the people, traditions and stories happening around it are what make rodeo what it is.
The North Texas Fair & Rodeo runs through Sunday, and we're not finished yet. More Bulls Blowout action is coming, followed by the Mexican Rodeo on Sunday to close this thing out.
We'll be there looking for the moments.

75 POINTS — AND EVERY ONE OF THEM WAS EARNED.
Kingston Phillips came out riding in the second performance of the U21 competition at the and put together a hard-earned 75-point ride to win the bull riding.
But as these photographs show, the story didn’t end at eight seconds.
Kingston took a hard shot after the ride and walked away a little shaken—but thankfully, not seriously injured. And this sequence shows exactly why bullfighters are such an important part of this sport. When things went bad, they didn't hesitate. They stepped directly into the danger and went to work protecting the cowboy.
That takes a special kind of courage.
Congratulations to Kingston Phillips on the win—and a tip of the hat to the bullfighters who put themselves between a cowboy and a bull every night.
And speaking of bulls...
Four nights of bull riding and bullfighting begin TONIGHT at the North Texas Fair & Rodeo.
We'll be there with cameras in hand.
