If you had told me years ago that I'd spend my days photographing families, I don't think I would've believed you.

I used to teach middle school math which surprisingly prepared me pretty well for working with little ones (and wild toddlers 😂). I truly loved working in the classroom.

But when I became a mom, I found my way back to photography as a way to navigate the newness of motherhood. Ever since I was little, cameras and photographs have been a place of comfort for me. I was the girl who spent hours making scrapbooks and counted down the days until I got my disposable camera shots back. It's always been my happy place. So it makes sense that I found my way here.

When I first started my business, I honestly wasn't sure if it could become something my family could rely on. I spent years slowly building it before finally taking the leap and it has been both exciting and terrifying.

Now I get to spend my days meeting your families, watching your little ones be exactly who they are, and documenting moments that will never happen quite the same way again.

The thought that a photograph I take today might bring you comfort and joy, or remind you how beautiful you are, or become something your children and grandchildren treasure one day is something I'll never stop being grateful for.

And I'm so glad I followed this path.

"Thank you so much for always being so patient and truly capturing such beautiful photos of our family 💕."

Messages like this mean a lot to me because patience is a huge part of every session and is at the forefront of my work with families and kids.

I never expect your little ones to be a certain way. As a mom, I know every day (and sometimes every hour) can bring a completely different mood, energy level, or emotion.

I also know that you're not really hiring me to photograph anything stiff or “perfect." You're hiring me to capture your family, your connection, the love, the joy, the chaos, the silliness, and all the things that make up your family right now.

My job is to meet your kids where they are and see the beauty that's already there.

So it means the world to know that the families I work with feel that. That they feel cared for, supported, and given all the patience in the world.

A little scheduling update ⬇️

Summer has a few spots left for family, newborn, and maternity sessions. I also still have a handful of Summer Backyard Sessions available that I shared through my newsletter recently (message me if you want details!).

Between summer trips, kids being home, and already scheduled sessions, my calendar tends to fill a little differently this time of year. So if summer feels like the right fit for your family, reach out sooner rather than later.

I’m also already scheduling fall sessions and newborns through late 2026. And honestly, it’s never too early to reach out even if you don’t have an exact date yet. We can always start with a month preference and figure out the details later (from one busy mom to another I get it - we always get those sports schedules last minute too 😂).

One thing I’ve learned over the years is that I do my best work when I take on a limited number of sessions each month. It gives me room to slow down, be creative, and give each family the experience they deserve (and the flexibility that life with little ones requires). Your family is never just another spot on my calendar, and keeping my schedule intentional helps me keep it that way.

And newsletter friends + past clients… keep an eye on your inbox this summer because I’ll be introducing something new soon 👀. Think meaningful ways to actually enjoy your photos beyond just keeping them on your phone.

P.S. I think you’re going to love it.

A mix of film and digital images from this motherhood session.

I may or may not have bought another film camera this weekend 🫣. Did I need it? Debatable haha 🤷‍♀️

But I just love film. The textures, the tones, the slower pace. It makes me slow down and pay attention in a different way than digital does.

Honestly, I think that’s why I love using film for our everyday family photos too. I’ve switched from the phone to mostly just film cameras. It feels more intentional. Less immediacy. More time actually spent in the moment. Capturing what I really want to remember instead of trying to capture everything or make anything feel “perfect.”

And the joy of getting film scans back honestly reminds me of going to get disposable cameras developed as a kid. Pure joy.

Goal for my sessions for the second half of 2026: use more film, even when it’s tricky, try new film stocks, get a little more creative 🎞️
