Some first looks from Taylor & Jared's wedding. The obstacles these two overcame would have caused any other couple to elope to Vegas. Instead, a quiet corner of Fort Worth provided the perfect setting for the next chapter in their love story.

I was lucky enough to get a hike in this weekend and nature didn't disappoint. While the clouds muted the colors a bit, they also kept the temps from getting out of hand. Special thanks to my hiking buddies for the company, and to this fearless stranger for venturing where others wouldn't.

What a week! What a performance from the with the 24-120mm f/4 S lens! Hurricane Erin churning offshore sent high winds and surf to the entire Eastern seaboard making for some dramatic scenes.

A few weeks back on a visit upstate, my wife found us a wonderful little waterfall hike. The entire trail seemed full of nice spots to set up product and lifestyle shots, and so a plan was born. Fast forward to last week when after aquiring a new lens, and stopping at for some props and provisions, I headed back to test out not only my eye, but also the with the 24-120mm f/4 S lens.

The spot delivered with ample warm light, and enough water in the creek to allow for shooting comfortably without getting washed away. ✅️

What of the rig? Simply outstanding. I have zero notes. This is a kit lens and it takes amazingly sharp, high quality photos. This lens that never leaves the bag.

From bobcats, to a large tree falling for no identifiable reason, to the near constant hooting of owls in stereo all around, this scene last night was incredible. Definitely going back.

PSA: Mirrorless is super cool, but nothing beats looking directly through your lens and focusing properly. Score one for the DSLR's!

The in spring never disappoints. A short walk on any nice day yields a striking array of local wildlife, with every link in the food chain on display.

In fairness to the frog, the Ribbon snake is on its menu as well.

A small win on a foliage walk. Spotted some Belted Kingfisher playing and fishing along a small creek. This high dive was from about 45 feet and into, at best, 6 inches of water. These darty, standoffish birds usually dont let me get close enough to shoot anything decent. Given the distance and the composition with the foliage and Gunks in the background, I was pleased with how the shot came out. Now to nitpick and edit every detail until I've ruined it 😆
