They say everything is bigger in Texas, and Zoe & Owen’s wedding proves that that includes wedding days at The Drover.

Zoe & Owen have known each other since high school, and have the kind of love that’s so grounding, safe, and familiar that they can just look at each other and know what the other person is thinking and feeling.

A few of my favorite things from their wedding:
• the courtyard where they had their first look - I mean those arches were made for that moment!
• her mom and sisters standing in awe of Zoe as she put on the final touches, including her mom’s veil.
• the bridesmaids dresses!! they had the perfect butter yellow color for spring, and I was low key obsessed with it.
• watching Zoe live her best life on the dance floor, especially when she did a turn with her grandfather 🥹

These are the kinds of moments I love about wedding days. They’re full of the sacred and the candid, and I love it all.

I still have availability for 2026, and am currently booking 2027. Reach out today to see if your date is available, I’d love to chat with you!!

The prayer I pray before every wedding I shoot: “Help me see the story You’re writing and moments You’re creating for them today.”

And wow, oh wow what a beautiful story this one was.

Surrounded by their closest friends and family, Meshali and Alex said “I do,” with the most intentional, worship-filled, joyful ceremony.

I’ve been shooting weddings since 2019, and truly, have never seen so many people worshiping and praying over the couple in a ceremony. Truly in awe.

And, not only did it not rain like the forecast had been predicting, but HONEYYYY that golden hour sun came out like she was a paid actor. It was glorious. 🙌🏻

Meshali and Alex have the best hype-girls, friends, and family who served them so well throughout the day, and then celebrated BIG at the reception.

(For real, can I bring y’all to all of my weddings to be my hype crew??)

I am still so blown away by the goodness of God, the sweetness of this couple, and that I had the honor of playing even a small role in their wedding day.

Whew, I love my job!! 🙌🏻

What I’m actually doing all day as your photographer…

Would you believe me if I said half of my job has nothing to do with a camera?

Photos you can feel don’t just happen. They come from helping you feel calm and comfortable, so you can be fully present in every moment.

So what’s the other half of my job?

It’s adjusting timelines to allow for the authentic connections as they happen.

Creating space for you to breathe.

Helping you stay present in the moment by knowing when to step back, and when to give direction.

Because when you feel calm and comfortable, everything else falls into place. đź’›

Before I ever pick up a camera, I’m paying attention to something else:

How you feel.

Because if you don’t feel safe and comfortable, nothing else matters.

(that’s just good life advice, too. nothing else matters until you’re safe)

My job isn’t *only* to document your day.

It’s to create an environment where you can *fully* be in it.

Where you don’t feel watched, or judged on a performance.

You just get to be comfortable, fully yourself, and fully in the moment.

That’s when the best moments happen, because your comfort is what unlocks the candid.

Celebrate is one of my favorite nights of the year.

Supporting survivors of trafficking and abuse is near and dear to my heart. And it is such a privilege to partner with Rescue Her in the amazing work they’re doing.

I’m still a little weepy and emotional from how incredible last night’s event was.

The fact is, trafficking, s*xual assault, domestic violence, it’s all real, it’s all right here in our communities, and at times our own churches, our own homes.

It’s a heavy and hard thing to look at, and that’s exactly the call.

God is serious about His daughters, and He’s relentless in His pursuit of our rescue, freedom, and healing.

He is constantly inviting us into His story of justice and righteousness, and it’s up to us to listen to His invitation and move.

One of the speakers last night said she was praying about how she could help survivors, and God asked her, “what’s in your hand?”

For her, it was crocheting and crafting. She began making and selling pieces and sending that money to Rescue Her. And over the years, she’s given nearly $40,000.

Nothing is wasted in the hands of the Father.

What is already in your hand?

For me, it’s my camera. Which started as volunteering, and is now a photography studio.

Our invitations and the ways we serve may look different, but the call is the same: do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly.

What’s in your hand?

If you want to get involved, drop a comment, or DM me. I’d love to tell you all about Rescue Her, Honey & Vine, and how you can join us.

Rescue Her’s annual gala, Celebrate, was so beautiful and extra special to be a part of tonight because my family was there, and the idea I’ve had tucked away in my heart since 2012 was announced to the world.

is a dream come true, not just for me, but because of how the Lord will use our “yes,” to care for His daughters.

We heard tonight that the U.S. is the top country in human and s*x trafficking in the world.

Within the U.S., Texas is the second highest state in trafficking.

And within Texas, Dallas-Fort Worth is the #1 area.

There has always been a need for advocacy, rescue, redemption, and support… but wow it’s especially needed right now.

What an absolute honor it is to support survivors. And what a heavy call it is to look evil in the eyes, and say, “no more.”

I’m beyond grateful for a family who supports me, prays with me and over me, a husband who champions women alongside me, and for the countless ways God has turned my own ashes of trauma into beauty.

What a gift to be a part of rescue; and to create spaces where people can be loved, known, and free.

When I hear couples tell me “we’re gonna be so awkward,” there’s a little part of me (ok a huge part of me) that says, “bet.”

One of the things I’m most proud of as a photographer is providing an unforgettable and FUN experience for my couples.

When you’re playing tag in an open field, swooping her up in your arms, or laughing at the way he’s tickling you… there’s no room to feel awkward.

Your comfort is one of my top priorities because your comfort unlocks the candid, every time.

It’s what sets the tone, and frees you up to fully enjoy the moment; and THAT is when I capture cinematic photos that you can actually feel.

Photos that already feel familiar, warm, and nostalgic because they are so true to who you are, and have captured your love story so authentically.

This truly is the heartbeat of story-centered wedding photography.

Is this the kind of photography experience you’ve been looking for?

There’s a difference between documenting a wedding
and understanding how to move within it.

The truth is anyone can take a decent picture; but not everyone can capture how you felt, or give you a wedding album rich with nostalgia, warmth, and all the feelings of the day.

I create space for what’s already happening around you to unfold naturally… not like a production, or performance. But authentically, so you can be fully present in every moment.

Presence over perfection, every time.

If this is the kind of wedding photography experience you’re looking for, I’d love to serve you.

A night out on the town, but make it an engagement session. ✨

Before their engagement session, I asked Kenny to tell me about their love story. He shared that they met in high school, and developed a deep friendship before dating their senior year. He said he “kept getting drawn to her humor and kindness towards everyone and eventually decided that I liked her.” 🥹

I also asked Cara & Kenny what they wanted to feel and remember when they look back at their engagement photos, they said they wanted to feel joy, comfort and pride.

Cara said “everything feels fast right now (working, planning a wedding, and working to find a house), so I want to look back and see the joy and excitement…”

Kenny being drawn to Cara, their sweet connection and growing up together… their nostalgia and sentimentality blended with their excitement for their marriage was my biggest inspiration for their session.

This is exactly why I create story-centered photos; photos that are literally centered around your love story.

“Wedding photography for the nostalgic at heart” is more than a tagline for me; it’s the heartbeat of Loom & Light. Because your love story is my greatest inspiration.

If you’re planning your wedding and want nostalgic photos you can feel, my 2026 calendar is open. Inquire at the link in my bio, and let’s chat!
