We weren’t supposed to even go to this location.
The plan was to drive up to hurricane ridge and have a picnic looking out over the mile and miles of mountains. But snow wasn’t done for the season and the week before some boulders fell and caused a blockage on the road up to the ridge. We watched weather and national park notifications every day leading up to Destiny and Christian’s elopement day but no luck. But we had backup locations planned on our first location planning meeting that they loved that we could shift to if needed.
The day before their elopement day the road was still blocked so we pivoted our day to have their picnic in lake crescent instead. And wow did it show OFF. The sun came out, the view was unreal and the night was perfect.
This is one of the many reasons a good elopement photographer is important on your day. Not only do I show up and take photos but we have multiple meetings beforehand to prepare - planning out locations, permits, timelines and backup options. I know the seasons, permit rules and will always research closures, weather, best times to go, etc. as the day gets close to make sure we are prepared!
You shouldn’t have to worry about a thing on your elopement day except marrying the love of your life 🫶🏼
