Ran a roll of Ilford HP5 120mm experimenting with my 1952 Ansco Viking. The focusing system on the camera is from the Stone Age. It has a dial you spin choosing your distance in feet, so it’s kind of a crapshoot when trying measure your distance. It has the potential for pulling off some really cool work artistically. By the looks of the photo I believe this was shot at 1/50 F6.3. By the looks of things I think I double exposed this shot on accident. Also looking at the door behind my subject it appears I was off on my focusing measurement. I’ll be experimenting with it a lot more in the next few days to try and nail down its capabilities.
The Ansco Viking 6.3 takes eight 6cm x 9cm (2.25 in x 3.75 in) photos on a standard roll of 120 format film. The camera was manufactured in 1952 for Ansco by Agfa Camera Werk, München, US Zone, Germany. The camera includes an 105mm Agfa Agnar Anastigmatic, hard-coated lens. Aperture settings are f/6.3, f/8, f/11, f/16, and f/22. A Vario shutter provides speed settings of 1/200, 1/50, 1/25, and Bulb.
