Great shot of James Logan High School warming up in the lot before prelims at WGI finals on April 17. These guys and gals got up at 3am PST after traveling all day from California to go on second out of all groups in PSW. Despite that, they were able to move on and make it all the way to finals, which is a testament to the resilience and hard work of both the students and instructors. Congrats James Logan on a great season!

Incredibly excited to write and design for this indoor season! First time bringing them to a WGI regional in school history and they made finals! Let’s go Bella Vista!

Fun life updates:

1) As some you saw yesterday, I accepted the role of percussion arranger and caption head with (the WGI indoor group affiliated with the ). I am super excited for the coming season and ready to work with many colleagues I marched with or taught in the past!

2) I am an official sponsored educator with ! I have long been an enthusiastic promoter of their sticks and mallets with all my programs, so I was more than excited when I was given the opportunity to join the team.

We’ve received two copyright strikes in the past two months on our YouTube channel. If you have a copyright issue with a video on our YouTube channel, PLEASE message me directly and we can talk about removing the offending video. One more strike and over fifteen years of uploads spanning multiple decades will be gone - and for many of them, I no longer have the raw footage.

And - please respond to my emails about my Mandarins lot video that you claim to hold copyright to.

Here’s my favorite video I shot last week: Carolina Crown warming up at quarterfinals for Evans Drumheads/D’Addario. Huge thanks to Jared Andrews for letting me get as close as I wanted; I think the results speak for themselves. Easily one of the best lot-shooting experiences I’ve ever had.

What an unfortunate message.

We do not do this for money, however we put thousands of dollars into doing videos. We travel, we buy equipment, we put time in, we edit, I use my vacation days to go to do DCI, gigs like this are usually paid. We do it for the members and the activity. Have been since 2005 (when I made my my first channel).

It’s an archive that can be used to celebrate and document the achievements of the members in this activity.

What money we make pays for gas, and honestly we give out the rest in donations for members in need. If you have ever received a donation from us…now you know where it comes from.

I will still be in the lot making videos, and you’ll still see my wife carrying our daughter on her hip to get footage too.

We know this is going to hurt a bit, and others may stop doing videos or be at your lot because of it.

We constantly get member messages saying they watched our videos to get better and drum along with before they made the line.

We thank you for all your support. We hope we can keep doing this for you all.
