As spring settles into the hills, new life begins to stir in the quiet corners of the woods. Tucked away beneath the earth, this little family has been growing.. Six curious, energetic fox kits are just beginning to explore the world above their den.

What starts as playful pouncing and clumsy chases is something more. Every leap, every tumble, every moment spent in the open is practice.. preparing them for the life that lies ahead. For now though, it’s all about sunshine, sibling rivalry, and the simple joy of being young and wild. Braxton County, WV

For those who’ve been wondering where I’ve been… I’m still here.

Life’s just been a little busy lately—work, long days, and chasing fleeting moments in the wild. But in between it all, I found myself sitting quietly at the edge of something special… a fox den tucked away as the light began to fade.

From the shadows, they emerged—one by one. Six little lives, full of curiosity and chaos, tumbling over each other without a care in the world. This little one paused just long enough to take it all in… and then was gone again, swallowed back into the blur of playful energy.

In those few short moments before darkness took over, they had me laughing more than I expected.

And somewhere behind me, Lyndsey whisper-yelling for everyone to be quiet only added to the memory. Braxton County, WV

I’ve been so blessed with wildlife encounters this year—thank the Lord for perfect timing. Saturday, Tabby and I spotted something back in this tree cavity. I was hoping for the raccoons again… but instead, this stunning gray morph Eastern Screech Owl had taken over.
It posed, called out to its mate, and gave me a moment I won’t forget. Lewis County, WV

It’s been a while since I stepped into the portrait world, but some people just pull you right back in. I’ve photographed this couple since the beginning, so when Gracie asked me to capture this chapter of their story, it meant a lot. I felt a little rusty at first, but they made it effortless—full of laughter and genuine moments. Watching their journey come full circle like this is something special. They’re going to be such amazing parents. 💙
