Some wedding days don't go exactly as planned, and those often end up being my favorites.
This day was full of strong winds, a private waterfront ceremony in Rapid City, turquoise (no exaggeration) blue water, and some incredible florals. There were definitely moments where we thought the wind might win..but looking back, it added so much movement and made the whole day feel like it was exactly what it was supposed to be.
One thing I especially loved about this wedding was that every vendor was local to Northern Michigan. Even though I live downstate now, I was born and raised in Traverse City, so I'll always consider myself at least half local (is that a thing? I'm making it a thing.) It was so much fun getting to work alongside such a talented group of vendors and be back in a place that still feels like home.
What stood out to me most, though, was how intentional these two were about including their daughter throughout the day. She wasn't just there for a few family photos...she was part of the celebration from beginning to end, and I loved getting to document every single bit of that.
A windy day, a beautiful waterfront, an amazing vendor team, and a family that was simply excited to celebrate together. Thanks for trusting me to tell your story. š¤
