What dreams are made of! A wild white stallion in the wilderness.
I caught him mid-run at Sand Wash Basin, out in the wide-open wilderness of northwest Colorado where these horses have never known a fence or a feeding schedule. You can see it in him: the dust caked into his coat, the old marks from a hard-lived life, the mane thrown sideways by his own speed. Nothing about this moment was staged β he was running because he wanted to, and I was blessed enough to be standing there with a camera when he did.
Not for the "pretty horse" shot, but for the real one.
Prints of this guy (and more of his herd) are up in my shop and website now β link in the comments/bio. π
