As I make a few updates to this page, you may notice some photos disappearing for a bit. 🤍

I promise I did not suddenly stop photographing babies and families 😂

I’m just making a change in how I share images of children publicly. Going forward, I’ll still be photographing all the sweet little faces, tiny details, chaos, snuggles, and everything in between — but any child under 18 that I share online will either have their face naturally hidden, cropped, or otherwise obscured.

So if my page looks a little sparse while I update things, that’s why.

The work isn’t changing. The way I protect the kiddos in it is. 🤍

I’ve been reading Jen Hamilton’s Birth Vibes and one of my favorite parts so far is her “Communication Vibe Check.”

Because we talk a LOT about birth preferences.

Unmedicated or epidural.
Induction or spontaneous labor.
Delayed cord clamping.
Skin to skin.
Pushing positions.

But how often do we talk about how you want people to communicate with you while all of that is happening?

Do you want every detail?

Do you want someone to give you the important information without making your brain feel like it just got handed a 47-page terms and conditions agreement? 😂

Do you need your nurse to slow down and explain things step by step?

Do you want to know the “why” behind every recommendation?

Do you want encouragement and reassurance, or are you more of a “please just tell me what’s happening and what the hell we’re doing” kind of person?

Do you process information better if someone shows you?

Do you want your partner included in every conversation?

That matters.

Because when I ask you to visualize your birth, I don’t necessarily want you obsessing over exactly how your baby gets here.

Birth is unpredictable and babies, quite frankly, do not give a s**t about our plans. 😂

Instead, think about how you want to feel while it’s happening.

Did you understand what was happening?

Did you feel heard?

Did you feel comfortable asking questions?

When something was recommended, did you understand why?

When the plan changed, did you feel like your care team brought you into the conversation instead of having a whole meeting about your body three feet away from you?

THAT is part of your birth plan too.

And this is also why education before labor matters so much to me.

I don’t want the first time you hear words like Pitocin, internal monitor, epidural, vacuum, fundal massage, or newborn medications to be while you’re exhausted, contracting, half naked, and trying to process fifteen things at once.

You do not have to become an L&D nurse before you give birth.

You just deserve enough education to understand your options, know what questions to ask, and feel like an active participant in your own care.

And honestly, this is one of my favorite parts of being both an L&D nurse and a doula.

As your doula, we get the time before birth to figure out what matters to you, how you learn, how you want information presented, what questions you have, and what makes you feel safe and supported.

Then when birth day comes, you’re not walking into that room completely blind.

You have context.
You know your preferences.
You know you can ask questions.
And you have someone beside you who already knows your vibe.

And if your birth decides to go completely off script?

Cool. Rude. But cool. 😂

At least you still deserve to understand what’s happening and feel supported through it.

That kind of preparation is a huge part of what birth + postpartum doula support with Willow & Wren looks like. 🤍

It’s never just the tiny toes. 🤍

It’s the way their whole foot fits in your hand.

The little hand resting on your chest while they eat.

The older sibling who suddenly needs to touch the baby every 14 seconds just to make sure they’re still there. 😂

The milk-drunk snuggles. The wrinkly newborn skin. The way they curl into you like that’s exactly where they’re supposed to be.

These are the things that feel so normal when you’re living them.

And then one day you realize their feet don’t fit in your palm anymore.

That’s why I love photographing these early days exactly as they are.

You don’t need a perfectly clean house.
You don’t need matching outfits.
You definitely don’t need to have your s**t together two weeks postpartum. 😂

Just love on your baby.

I’ll take care of remembering what it looked like. 🤍

Birth is one of those things that doesn’t stay sharp in your memory for long, it turns into little snapshots that fade faster than you expect.

You do remember pieces.

The contractions. The moment someone says, “ready to push?” Your baby’s first cry. That first look at their face after dreaming of it for months.

And then everything else? It gets fuzzy.

Like the way your partner held your hand like you were doing something extraordinary (because you were). The quiet “you’ve got this” whispered between contractions. The way they looked at you during the hardest parts, like you were the strongest person in the world. The whole room shifting the second your baby arrives. Tears, relief, laughter, chaos, all colliding at once.

That’s the part most people don’t get to keep.

That’s what I love about birth photography.

I’m there for all of it.

Not just the big, defining moments, but also the in-between ones you don’t even realize are happening while you’re busy bringing your baby earthside. The real story. The strength in the room. The softness in the chaos. The way your whole world changes in a single breath.

And later, when you look back?

Those images aren’t just “birth photos.”

They’re the proof of how your baby got here and just how powerful you were doing it.

Oh ya know, just me, an L&D nurse, realizing that knowing exactly what is happening does not, in fact, make contractions hurt any less. 😂

And yes, my bed is absolutely moved so I can watch the strip for my own baby because apparently I can’t clock out mentally either. 🫣

Like ma’am, I KNOW what transition is. I KNOW this is normal. I KNOW my body is doing exactly what it’s supposed to do.

That did not stop me from internally being like… absolutely the hell not. 😂

And apparently at one point, according to the notes from my wonderful mom and sister took during my birth:

“Taylor: I feel like my bu****le is coming out.”
(….Jordan you’re a real one for the reassurance 😘)

So. Very calm. Very knowledgeable. Very professional. 😂

And honestly, this is all part of why I’m loving doula work even more after learning what a good doula can actually bring to the birth space.

You do not have to be terrified of birth to want a doula.
You do not have to be planning an unmedicated birth.
You do not have to have trauma.
You do not have to feel unprepared.

You can know a LOT about birth and still want someone beside you reminding you that you’re okay, helping you through the next contraction, supporting your partner, explaining what’s happening when your brain has officially left the chat, and just being another calm person in your corner.

I literally work in labor & delivery and still had moments during my own birth where I was like, “yeah no, I actually don’t know how anyone does this.” 😅

Birth can be beautiful, empowering, exciting, and also really freakin’ difficult.

So if you’re pregnant and thinking, “yeahhhh I might want an extra person in my corner for all of that,” DM me 😘 I’ve got you.

Lately my brain feels like it’s running on a constant loop of “keep the baby safe, keep the baby safe, keep the baby safe.” 😂

Elena is 9 months old now and suddenly crawling everywhere, pulling herself up on everything, standing with support, and now casually letting go for a few seconds like she doesn’t realize I am absolutely not emotionally prepared for that.

And I LOVE watching her learn. I love seeing how curious she is and watching her figure out what her little body can do.

But also… holy hell. How many different ways can one tiny person almost hurt themselves in a single day?!

Motherhood is funny because I dreamed about this for years. I wanted to be a mom so badly that sometimes there’s this weird guilt attached to admitting that it’s hard.

Like, I wanted this more than anything, so shouldn’t I just be grateful?

And I am. So unbelievably grateful.

But I’m also tired. I worry constantly. I question whether I’m doing enough, whether I’m doing things right, whether I’m somehow going to mess her up, and whether I should have baby-proofed something that I didn’t even know was capable of becoming a weapon until approximately 30 seconds ago.

I think there’s room for both.

You can be completely obsessed with your baby and still feel overwhelmed by the responsibility of being their entire safe place.

You can have wished for motherhood with your whole heart and still have days where it feels really freaking hard.

And maybe part of why I’ve fallen so deeply in love with birth work and photographing motherhood is because I understand more and more that moms deserve to be seen in all of it. Not just the beautiful parts.

The love, the fear, the exhaustion, the mental load, the tiny moments you wish you could freeze forever… all of it.

Throughout this journey of becoming a doula, I have realized how many people have never even heard of them. So… what does having a doula actually look like?

As your birth doula, my job is to be a consistent, familiar support person for you throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and those first moments after your baby arrives.

Before birth, we’ll spend time talking through your previous experiences, hopes for this birth, preferences, fears, questions, comfort measures, and what kind of support feels best for you. When labor starts, I’m there for the physical support like position changes, counter pressure, breathing, movement, comfort techniques but also for the emotional side of birth. I’m there to reassure you, help you process your options, support your partner, and help create an environment where you feel informed, heard, and cared for.

I’m also a L&D nurse, so birth is already a world I know and love soooo deeply. Becoming a doula has given me the opportunity to take the parts of L&D that I love most like supporting, educating, reassuring, and advocating for families, and provide that support in a much more personal and continuous way. I’m currently finishing my certification and expect to be fully certified by the end of October! 🥹🤍

And because photography is such a huge part of who I am too, I also offer packages that include birth and motherhood photography. While I’m supporting you through labor, I can document the little pieces of your birth story as they happen.. the hands squeezing yours, your partner supporting you, the anticipation, the moment your baby arrives, those first tiny details, and all of the moments that tend to become a blur afterward.

My packages are customizable depending on how much doula support + photography coverage you’re looking for, with birth packages starting at $900. We’ll go through all of the options during a Zoom interview so we can get to know each other, talk about what you’re hoping for, and figure out which package makes the most sense for you.

Quick life and editing update!

I know I am way behind on editing and I really hate making people wait.

Life has been a whole entire whirlwind as I navigate motherhood, nursing, doula courses, and growing my little business into something that I have been dreaming of. Somewhere along the way, I managed to get behind on getting photo galleries edited and sent out.

Not an excuse at all, just the honest truth.
