It’s raining
My garden is dead
Things are dark
I’m sitting right over my dogs favorite p*e spot, so it’s smelly

And
This garden has things growing: garlic, one beet, daffodils are starting to show, crocuses.
Inside my husband brightly decorated the kitchen for me.
A gifted amaryllis is on its third bloom.
A tree branch I found outside is flowering.
A new leaf on my monstera
And then I couldn’t stop taking pictures of the things in my house that brought me joy.

So in the darkness of a rainy day in February there is beauty and life. That’s what I have been holding onto while facing the darkness.

I spend a lot of my time taking pictures of babies and I not mad about that. I love that I get to be one of the first people to welcome them to the outside world. A soft hello and a soft exclaimtion ( to the best of my ability, IYKYK) that they are wonderful and beautiful. I really love it!

🎶 it’s the most wonderful time of the year🎶
I was standing in aldi when I spotted a candle and just needed to test the scent. While I was taking a deep inhale a man asked me if the candle smelled like Christmas. I said “ yes, it smells like home.” It was a blood orange and persimmon candle. I went on to explain that I grew up in Southern California where my home town smells like orange blossoms in the winter and there is citrus growing in most backyards. We went on to talk about California and it’s wonderful agriculture then wished each other a merry Christmas. I bought that candle!
So here I am enjoying the beautiful fruits of my hometown and I thought I would share. Merry Christmas!
