The Frederick County Commission for Women is thrilled to welcome Ashanti Wilson as one of our newest Commissioners!
Ashanti brings a dynamic blend of public health expertise, leadership, and global perspective to the Commission. She holds a Bachelor’s in Sports Medicine from Howard University and a Master’s in Public Health from Liberty University. With over a decade of service at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as a Project Manager, Ashanti now supports the Montgomery County Government’s Police Stress Management Team, promoting wellness and resilience among first responders.
Beyond her public service, Ashanti is a successful entrepreneur and founder of Adventures by Natasha, where she helps clients plan extraordinary vacations and destination weddings. Her passion for exploration shines through her love of travel, food, and culture—she’s even a proud Yelp Elite reviewer, sharing her culinary finds and travel adventures with enthusiasm.
Dedicated to service and sisterhood, Ashanti volunteers with the Alzheimer’s Association and her cherished Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She also holds dual citizenship with Grenada and the United States, reflecting her deep appreciation for cultural connection and community.

Appreciation post! I can not thank Dr. Keia Brown, the founder of the system enough.

Years ago in the midst of a pandemic she asked me could I give a small presentation on the importance of having a good headshot. I spoke to 5 young ladies at MaryMount University about the importance of having a good headshot and how to go about it.

Who would of thought 3 years later I would have the opportunity to photograph state and national queens for this amazing organization.

Thank you for believing in me and allowing me to be apart of of this organization. I’m excited to for all the new things to come next year.
