Liz + Micah + baby Carter 🤍

Last time I photographed these two, we hiked nearly two miles up a mountain and somehow ended up in an absolutely torrential thunderstorm. 😂 This time, they came down to Fredericksburg with their sweet baby boy and things were a little quieter.

We took our time. We stopped when Carter needed to eat, grabbed water, nursed the baby, settled him, and started again when everyone was ready. No stressing over the clock.

That’s one of my favorite things about lifestyle newborn sessions. There’s room for the baby to lead a little and for us to photograph these first days as they really are.

And knowing Liz + Micah’s story makes getting to photograph this chapter even sweeter. From that mountaintop to this little boy, there are some stories where you can look back and see the kindness of God written all through them. Yes and amen. 🤍

Carla + Gabriel at The Atrium at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens 🤍

Such a beautiful day celebrating these two, surrounded by family and friends who traveled from all over the world to be there. Their Christ-centered ceremony was such a sweet reflection of what mattered most to them, followed by an evening full of color, music, laughter, and so much joy.

Carla wore the most incredible gown from Ava Laurenne Bride here in Fredericksburg, Virginia, paired with Gabriel’s classic Vera Wang tux. Meadowlark Botanical Gardens was absolutely showing off too, with the late-summer gardens still in bloom. 🌿🌸

Sweetest little Spotsy elopement with Nick + Holly. 🤍

Holly and I met a few years ago at a vendor show and bonded over our mutual love of Jane Austen, Lizzie Bennet, and all things romantic — so getting to photograph this chapter of her story felt extra sweet. 🥹

And somehow the overcast skies were absolutely perfect for us. We were shooting in the middle of the day without a ton of shade, and that soft light gave us the dreamiest little pocket of time to wander, laugh, dance, and make something beautiful together.

But more than anything, I just love how them these feel. Sweet, playful, completely smitten. Nick + Holly, I’m so happy for you guys. 🤍

Carla and Gabriel warned me that he might not be very good at taking pictures, and then Gabriel proceeded to completely knock their entire Meadowlark Botanical Gardens engagement session out of the park. 🤣

These two were so easy together, and now we’re officially only one month away from their wedding day. I cannot wait to photograph them all over again, this time while they become husband and wife. 🥹

Dennis + Sarah 🤍

A breeze, cloud cover, and two people who are so easy to root for.

Dennis started the session a little nervous (don’t worry, I told him almost everyone does 😅), but Sarah had him laughing within minutes. By the end, they were completely themselves, and those are always my favorite kinds of sessions.

Cannot wait for their wedding next year.

There is something incredibly special about getting to photograph the same love story through different seasons. 🤍

Emily & Elijah 🤍

Every wedding has its own personality, and one of my favorite parts of the experience is tailoring each gallery to fit the couple. Emily & Elijah asked for their gallery to lean darker and moodier, and I loved bringing that vision to life.

From the quiet moments before the ceremony to one packed dance floor at the end of the night, their day was full of love, celebration, and so many familiar faces. It was especially meaningful to photograph the son of Brian & Sarah Roberts—Brian actually officiated Scott’s and my wedding years ago, so seeing so many people from that season of life again made this day extra special.

Some wedding days ask a little more of everyone.

It was pushing 98° with what felt like 100% humidity, and these two never once complained. They happily wandered nearly a mile through Meadowlark Botanical Gardens, trusting me every step of the way, and I think it was worth every bead of sweat. 🤍

Celine and Gabe are gentle, joyful, and so clearly at home with each other. Watching them laugh through the heat, stop to admire the gardens, and soak in every moment reminded me that the best photos almost always come from couples who are simply present together.

Congratulations, you two. It was such a joy getting to tell this chapter of your story. 🌿
