Last Minute Family Photos! Hi everyone, I just wanted to let you know that i’ll be in Waynesboro visiting family for Christmas and I’m available to do some photo sessions for anyone thats wants some last minute portraits for Christmas or end of the year photos. There's a number of times that people reach out from my hometown during the year asking to get photos done and it's so difficult finding a time that works for both of us. Sami Jo and David’s fall portraits! I met this lovely couple at the St. Joseph festival for catholic artist earlier this spring and I finally got the chance to do some portraits for them. We went to Jones Point Park in Alexandria, Va which is a favorite location of mine. We had perfect weather and sill had some beautiful fall foliage.

We officially have a one year old! 😅 I know I post about my son all the time, but I just love these little milestones and capturing the moments. This was my first time photographing a cake smash. It’s way more difficult than it looks especially being the mommy and the photographer at the same time. While everything appears fairly simple, I put a lot of effort into this. I don’t own any fancy backdrops or high quality lighting equipment. I had to work with what I had and only bought a few items to make it work. The backdrop is actually some kind of poster board I found at Hobby Lobby. The macrame hanging decor was something I made myself from from some cotton cord. I also was crazy and made the cake and icing from scratch. I’m not sure yet if I want to invest in studio photography, so I wanted to test it out first. (I will gladly do a cake smash anytime outside.) Our apartment is pretty dark this time of the year, so I dug out my simple lighting equipment. Eventually I got all the settings the way I like and it turned out amazing! My husband and I had a great time watching him make a mess with the cake haha. Happy Birthday sweet boy!

Grace’s senior photos from last spring! Where has the time gone? I’ve known Grace since she was in grade school and now she’s graduated high school and working full time. I’m so glad to be apart of your life and watch you grow. From being your dance instructor and confirmation sponsor to now a great friend. I’m always ready for some funny customer stories. I have always admired your strong work ethic among the craziness around you. Keep it up and don’t forget to flash that beautiful smile you have. Love ya!
