A Trumpeter Swan family at Tuttle Marsh Wildlife Area, near Tawas, MI. Unlike the Mute swans that have the orange bill and are invasive, the Trumpeter swans are not invasive and can be recognized by their black bill. They are on Michigan's list of threatened species. July 2022

Do you know the difference between a Barn Swallow and a Tree Swallow? The major difference is the Barn Swallow has reddish-orange coloring on its head and stomach. Don't see that on these two, so they are Tree Swallows. Tawas Point State Park - 7/2022

Day 8 - July 8 - Tawas State Park - Eastern Kingbird - Graduation must have happened overnight. Bittersweet. Little bird no where to be seen. No mom or dad hanging around either. So many trees to explore. Fly free sweet bird.

Day 7 - July 7 - Tawas State Park - Eastern Kingbird - Such a surprise today! I had to look a bit, but I found the baby way up the tree. Finally, the little bird could see a new view looking down instead of up all the time. What a rapid change in a short period. I felt special to have witnessed it all.

I highly recommend Tawas Point State Park for the nature lover in you! Something new to see every day. July 2022
