When I made the choice to move into the Feminine Portraiture niche of photography it sure felt like a whole other time in the universe. I launched this brand in January 2020 and I sure don't have to tell you what took place shortly after launching my offering Beauty & Bo***ir Portraiture. COVID certainly played a role that would define the direction I would take this business.
It's time to talk about the name, Marge & Betty. It is a namesake for the two most influential women in my lifetime... my grandmother and great-grandmother. Both of these women were without question modern women of their times... the influence that they have had in my life is so significant that I felt this strong desire to name my business after them. As COVID took a hold of the world at the beginning of the launch everything in the portraiture world came to a standstill. And as the world began to wake back up, I noticed that when getting referrals no one ever said Marge & Betty... it was most always Shira Rose.
Although I felt extremely conflicted in even considering a name change, I knew that if my beautiful grandmother and great-grandmother were alive, they both would have more than likely encouraged me to not stand behind them but to stand proud in the power of me as the brand and face of my business. So I did it... and I forgot to tell y'all, the followers of Marge & Betty.
