RIP x100t Series 3 of 9

Got this one in 2021 while on a shoot in LA. I always used to see the Venice Beach skate park in magazines growing up and conquered it in THPS, so it was a must to visit. I ended up spending most of the day there watching everyone rip.

RIP x100T.
I bought this little camera for my birthday in 2016. I shot a brand library/campaign with it in 2017. I've made many of my favorite photos with this one. It fell out of my bag and smacked the floor today and it's now a paper weight. One of these days I'll replace it with a x100vi or maybe even a Leica, but for now I'll be bummed. I think the next few posts will be some of my favorite photos I've made with this one.

What does a day in Downtown look like for you? I like starting my day in Downtown at The Mill☕ or Stick Boy Bread Co.🥐 with a hot cup of coffee and a chat with one of the many friendly people I see regularly around town. I like to say hey to Frank at The Mason Jar Tavern at lunch and stroll back up Main St. to my studio next door to Stick Boy. Since moving into my new spot, I've loved seeing all the happy people walk past my windows or stop and peek in. I start to feel FOMO towards the end of the day and on a good day will head over to The Mill for a tea or beer and good conversation before heading home for the evening.

What is your favorite Downtown Event and why? I'm a big fan of the En Plein Air event🎨🖌️. It's special to see artists being vulnerable for all to see and sharing their work so quickly. It's a privilege to be able to be present with them and witness them in their flow states.

Why are you a Friend of Downtown? FVDA's work influences and guides aspects of the culture of our community that brings people together and I think that's worth investing in.

Some fun facts on the history of Jebbs office space - I'm in the old Service Barber Shop which may not be haunted, but the walls know more about this town than I ever will. It's not lost on me that I work in a space that was once full of friendship, stories, men getting haircuts for weddings, graduations, job interviews, funerals, and to maybe get out of the house for a little bit. It's been re-painted and cleaned, but I think it'll always smell a little like a barber shop and that's a pretty comforting feeling.

ALSO super fun fact about Jebb is that he coined the famous phrase around this town “Fuquay-Varina. Hard to say. Easy to love.”

We're inviting you to join us for a community art project kicking off at the Celebrate Fuquay-Varina Festival tomorrow in downtown Fuquay (10am-4pm). Participants will paint a square on one of a couple panels that will later be installed on the Stepping Out on Faith Hair Designs building in the alleyway next to Garion Bunn State Farm.

The exact location of where we'll be is yet to be determined, but when we know we will share it on our website at easytolove.org, check that website to find out where you can come to add your touch to the painting.

Junkcon was incredible! It was a great couple of days with a bunch of friendly people!

So they were taking free head shot photos at Junkcon and I could not be more pleased with the way they turned out! Many thanks to the Junk Removal Authority team for making these happen!

Fuquay-Varina’s first coffee roastery that opened their doors in 2018 at the town's original EMS station. Owners Ben and Alex have put their own spin on a modern industrial vibe, all while staying true to the small town coffee shop feel. With plenty of seating, fresh beans, wifi, housemade baked goods, and even some gluten/dairy free to-go food options— you’re sure to find something you love here!
They also host markets with and have been hosting live music performances as well!

I photographed Rachel ( ) last Fall to help her get some imagery for her website and some PR collateral. Rachel is a Realtor and Artist based here in Fuquay-Varina. You can find her murals around town throughout the year on windows and walls and you can find her smiling face around town as one of the biggest hearts for our community.
