I stepped away from my business about a year ago, and now I’m back.

I spent my time away doing things that don’t show up in a portfolio. I homeschooled my boys full time. Celebrated 10 years of marriage by eating delicious cheesecake and exploring Spain with my husband. Sat in circles with other mamas at church who reminded me I’m not alone. I also unintentionally started building a collection of medical diagnoses 😅Thankfully, I’m on the mend.

It was the kind of year that’s hard to explain but easy to feel. Full. Standing on the other side of it, I feel more connected than ever to why I photograph families.

Because these seasons pass. Your pregnancy. Your newborn’s first days. Your toddler’s wobbly steps. They go. They just go. And the families I’ve had the honor of photographing remind me of that every single time a mama messages me to say her child pointed at a photo on the wall and asked, “Is that baby me?”

That is why I do this.

Tierney Riggs Photography is officially back, and I am so ready. Newborn, maternity, and family sessions are now open for booking in the Raleigh area. If you’d like to capture this season of your family’s story, I’d be honored to be the one behind the lens.

📍POV: You almost didn’t book the milestone session… but now? You can’t imagine not having these photos.

You told yourself you’d remember.

The gummy smile.
The way their whole face lights up when they see you.
The little rolls, the chubby fingers, the way they sit up, wobbling just a little.

But somehow, this stage is already slipping away.

Here’s the thing no one tells you—milestone sessions aren’t just “extra” photos. They’re the moments you’ll wish you had when your baby isn’t a baby anymore.

✨ The newborn snuggles fade into belly laughs.
✨ The sleepy stretches turn into clapping hands and little teeth peeking through.
✨ The baby who once fit perfectly in your arms will be taking their first steps before you know it.

One day, you’ll look back and wonder, How was she ever this little?
And these photos? They’ll bring you right back.

That’s exactly why I created my Bump to Baby Collection—because you shouldn’t have to choose just one moment to remember.

For families in the Raleigh area (and surrounding towns like Cary, Holly Springs, and Fuquay), this collection is designed to document the full story of your baby’s first year:
💛 Maternity
💛 Newborn
💛 Sitter
💛 First Birthday

Everything’s planned ahead. No last-minute scrambling, no forgotten milestones, no “I wish we had…”

Because this isn’t just a stage—it’s the beginning of your family’s legacy.

📆 I have limited Bump to Baby spots available for 2024. DM me “BABY” to learn more or secure your collection before they’re gone.

If you’re anything like me, your home tells a story. 📚

Every piece has meaning—your Mema’s china cabinet, the ginger jars you just had to have, the silver candlesticks polished for every holiday meal.

And right there, between the chinoiserie vases and heirloom furniture, there should be something even more important:

Your family’s history, framed and on display.

Because your home isn’t just about décor—it’s about the people who fill it.

One day, your babies will walk through these rooms, running their fingers over the frames that hold their childhood.
One day, they’ll see these portraits and know exactly how much they were loved.
One day, these won’t just be pictures. They’ll be part of the legacy you’ve built.

So hang the portraits. Frame the memories. Make your home a reflection of the people who make it feel like home.

📸 Spring is here, and it’s the perfect time to capture these moments before the season slips away. I have just a few April and May openings left, and I’d love to create something timeless for your family.

DM me to secure on of my last spots!

I wish I could go back and sit beside her—the first-time mom who was doing her best but doubting it at every turn. The one who read every book, Googled every symptom, and held her baby close, wondering if she was getting any of it right.

If I could, here’s what I’d tell her:

💛 You don’t have to enjoy every moment. Some moments will be hard. That doesn’t mean you love your baby any less.

💛 Stop measuring your worth by how much you get done. The dishes can wait. The to-do list will still be there tomorrow. The snuggles won’t.

💛 Your instincts are stronger than you think. No book or expert knows your baby the way you do. Trust yourself.

💛 You’re not failing just because it’s hard. Hard things stretch you, but they don’t break you. You were made for this.

💛 One day, you’ll miss the things that feel exhausting now. The middle-of-the-night rocking. The way they only want you. The tiny fingers curled around yours.

And most of all? You’re doing better than you think.

To the first-time mamas in the thick of it—I see you. And one day, you’ll see just how much love you poured into these days. What’s one thing you’d tell yourself as a first-time mom? Drop it in the comments!

Trends come and go. Styles change. But family? That never goes out of style.

That’s why when I photograph your family, I’m not thinking about what looks trendy today—I’m thinking about what will still feel meaningful decades from now.

📷 I choose soft, natural colors over trendy filters. Because I want your images to feel just as warm and true-to-life when your grandchildren see them.

📷 I focus on connection over stiff poses. Because one day, you won’t care if everyone was looking at the camera—you’ll care about the way your baby fit in your arms.

📷 I create images that deserve a place on your walls, not just your phone. Because a framed portrait lasts longer than any Instagram post ever will.

One day, these photos won’t just be pictures. They’ll be part of your family’s history.

That’s why I photograph the way I do—so your memories won’t just live in this moment, but for generations to come.

📸 Let’s create something timeless. DM me to book your family photos.

💛 “I wouldn’t have had the brain space to schedule milestone photos.”

That’s what one of my Bump to Baby moms told me, and I get it.

Your baby’s first year is a blur of growth, love, and sleepless nights—the last thing you need is to be scrambling to book sessions at the last minute.

That’s why I created the Luxe Bump to Baby Collection—so you can enjoy every moment without worrying about documenting it.

With four sessions pre-scheduled, you’ll have a stress-free way to capture every stage:

✔️ Maternity (28-32 weeks)
✔️ Newborn (5-14 days old)
✔️ Sitter (6-7 months)
✔️ First Birthday (12 months)

✨ No last-minute booking stress. No missed milestones. Just timeless, intentional portraits of your baby’s first year.

📅 I have limited openings for summer and fall due dates! The best time to book is between weeks 13-20 of pregnancy! DM me or tap the link in bio to reserve your spot!

🧼 There’s always something that needs to be done. The dishes. The laundry. The grocery list. The emails. The never-ending cycle of “just one more thing.”

But when I look back on this season?

I won’t remember how much I got done.
I won’t remember if the house was clean or the schedule was color-coded.

I’ll remember…
✨ The way they reached for my hand without thinking.

✨ The way they mispronounced words in the sweetest way.

✨ The way their whole body relaxed when they curled up beside me.

✨ The way they called for me first when they were scared in the night.

Because one day, the to-do lists will slow down. The laundry baskets will be emptier. The rooms will be quieter.

And all that will be left are the moments—the ones that felt small at the time but meant everything in the end.

📸 Let’s make sure you have photos of those moments. DM me to book your family photos.

Smocking, monograms, heirloom portraits—these aren’t just styles. They’re part of Southern heritage.

One day, the dresses will be outgrown.
The tiny shoes will be tucked away.
The curls will no longer bounce when they run.

But these portraits? They’ll last.

Because we believe in tradition.

We believe in family stories that are passed down, just like your Mema’s china.

We believe that some things never go out of style.

So if you’ve been meaning to capture your baby’s first monogram, the way they still fit in your arms, or the sweet innocence of these early years… this is your sign.

Because this isn’t a trend. It’s legacy.

📸 Let’s create something timeless. DM me the word "baby" to inquire about your Bump to Baby Collection.

This morning, my 5-year-old didn’t need me to open his breakfast bar.

A small thing. An expected thing. The kind of independence I used to wish for when I was balancing a baby on my hip and a toddler at my feet.

But as I watched him tear open the wrapper on his own, I felt it—that little pang in my chest.

Because somehow, in the middle of the ordinary days, my baby turned into a big kid. The one who used to reach for my hand now writes his name and counts by 10s.

And the thing is, I never knew the last time he needed my help would actually be the last.

That’s how it happens, doesn’t it?

✨The last time they mispronounce a word in that way that makes you smile.

✨The last time they ask you to carry them up the stairs.

✨The last time they curl up in your lap without their legs hanging over the side.

No big moment. No warning. Just one day, you realize it’s already behind you.

And that’s why I do what I do.

Because these in-between moments—the ones that don’t seem like milestones until they’re gone—deserve to be held onto.

💬 What’s one “last time” that snuck up on you? Drop it in the comments—I’d love to hear.

📅 If you want to hold onto this season just a little longer, let’s make it happen. I have two spots left for family photos in March. Send me a DM with the word, “Family” and let’s make sure this season is documented.

Spring is on its way, and that means one thing… daffodils. 🌼

The first blooms of the season. The golden little messengers that tell us winter is behind us and warmth is on its way.

And if you ask me, there’s nothing sweeter than little ones twirling through a field of daffodils—bare feet in the grass, tiny hands clutching freshly picked flowers, giggles floating through the air like the first signs of spring itself.

Daffodil Mini Sessions are here, and they are every bit as dreamy as they sound.

✨ Limited spots available – these blooms don’t last long!

📍 Dix Park Daffodil Fields
📅 Early March dependent upon peak bloom time
💛 Short & sweet 15 minutes sessions, perfect for little ones.

Whether you want to capture baby’s first spring, update family portraits, or simply soak in the magic of the season—this is for you.

🌼 Booking opens soon! Drop a 🌼 in the comments if you want early access.
