I’m a little late to the party, but here was the show from Death Valley during the solar storm on Tuesday night. This was my third time seeing the Aurora Borealis in Death Valley, which is wild! But this was certainly the most intense. The reds were out of this world and clearly visible to the naked eye. We were thankful to find a brief break in the clouds to photograph this for a while; it was definitely worth the short detour from our original schedule!

I’ll add one more Aurora image to the mix! After seeing the forecast on Thursday night .renwick.photography and I decided to do something crazy and drive North from Denver to get a better view of the northern lights. Had targets of Yellowstone, Devils Tower, or Theodore Roosevelt. In the end we made the 12 hour trek to one our favorite places, Yellowstone. We met up with and were treated with an unforgettable night. We even hiked out to Great Fountain Geyser to create this dream image with the Aurora reflecting in the pools. We had to contend with some bison on our hike back, but thankfully were able to skirt around them in the woods unscathed. We are going back out again tonight which is shaping up to be just as good as last night. I’m thankful we took a risk as it paid of in droves!

Another from a recent trip to Yellowstone. I couldn’t say for sure, but I believe it was near -30 this morning, when the sun poked above the fog it turned the landscape into a magical paradise. Link to the entire PDF portfolio from the trip in my bio or story.

I did it! I managed to actually process my photos from our recent trip to Yellowstone 🤣 This is one of the many magical experiences we had seeing wolves up close with this stunning background.
