When the customer is given a digital file will they look how we, the photographers, who created the images intended them to look? After all, our name is on it. I say the odds are doubtful.
Have we devalued many things in this industry: the work, the final product, the relationships between client and photographer, the way we market? Quality of the highest standard cannot just be handed over for a say, "Walmart or Walgreens" to finish. The master quality can only be fully achieved from the eyes of the creator.
Sure, prospective clients will still ask for digital images, but it’s up to us to change the conversation to the level of quality required for generations of happiness from the final wall hung final product.
