How do I live 25 lives in the month of August? Holy crap.
Hiiiii friends!! I just wanted to hop on here and give an update because I am quite positive there's about 5 million emails, texts, fb messages, and business suite messages waiting on me.
If you don't already know, my Gadsden studio just closed so on top of my grad school, my nursing job, back to school for four kids, sports, music lessons, all the mom/wife duties... I had to move up all of my sessions from September 2026 - December 2027 to the month of August, on top of my mini sessions. And then spent yesterday moving everything out and wow I really accumulated A LOT in those five years 🤣
Busiest month of my life by far. You know those days were every single second is accounted for & you're just running around fighting for your life? That was my every day in August hahaha but I am SO so thankful that this precious studio went out with such a bang 🖤
With all of that being said, today is my first "off day" in months so that means I will finally be able to edit, reply to emails, create & send out style guides, even do my school work... and I am stoked about it.

PSS I loooove spooky szn but I am a Christmas GIRL. Like, I am actually sad every Christmas night because I have to wait a whole year to do it again. I am buddy the elf in a girl body. I say that to say... I don't play when it comes to my Christmas sessions and the three I have this year are my absolute FAVORITE EVER.

I have The Lady & The Nutcracker at The English Cottage which is breathtaking if we're being honest. Classy, timeless, traditional holiday magic.

I have Christmas, 1991 which is absolutely going to transport all my 90's kids RIGHT back to Christmas morning in the greatest era of all time. The things I already have for this shoot... iconic. I absolutely cannot wait.

And then I have The Holiday House for the first time ever and I am SOOOO excited about this one!! It's a little funky, it's a little traditional, it's going to be giving Nancy Meyers meets Ralph Lauren meets Frank Sinatra and they all go shopping at Anthropologie with your rich drunk aunt. These are just going to be really, really cool and the things I have up my sleeve for these + the style guide = chefs kiss.

Hi my friends 🖤
End of summertime with four kids + back-to-school chaos + ALLLLL the minis I’ve been planning, shooting + getting ready for… and starting the studio move-out, my normal routine has been completely out of whack.

BUT SCHOOL STARTED BACK TODAY 🙌🏼
And while I am always kind of sad about that, I am very much looking forward to getting our lives back on a schedule. I’m hoping by next week we’ll be fully back into our normal routine and I’ll feel like a functioning human again. 😂

Today is a major catch-up day for me. I’m working from home tackling:
• Editing + galleries
• Emails + messenger/ text messages
• Upcoming mini session details + prep guides
• Booking/admin work
• All the little behind-the-scenes things that have piled up

I do have two in-person image reveal appointments today, but other than that, I am planted at my computer and working through everything!

My goal is to have EVERYONE responded to by this evening.

There’s something about the beach before the rest of the world wakes up.
The cold air. Bare feet in the sand. Sleepy eyes. Wind-tangled hair. The first little bit of sunlight breaking over the water.
And Micaela + Sky, completely wrapped up in each other through all of it.

It was COLD. The kind of cold that makes you pull each other closer without even thinking about it, and somehow that made this session feel even more intimate.
No big production. No stiff posing. Just the two of them walking the shoreline, curling into each other, laughing, touching, breathing each other in while the sky slowly turned morning around them.

This is what I want your couples session to feel like.
Not two people standing in front of my camera trying to figure out what to do with their hands.
I want movement. Closeness. Goosebumps. Messy hair. Foreheads touching. The little ways you naturally reach for each other when you forget I’m there.
I want photographs that feel like you remember being there.

Cold sand under your feet.
Salt in the air.
Their arms around you.
The whole beach almost completely to yourselves.

It rained the entire day Ryder came home to my camera. 🤍
The kind of dark, stormy day where the house feels extra quiet and cozy, the windows are covered in raindrops, and there’s absolutely nowhere else in the world you need to be.

And somehow, it made this session even more perfect.

Sweet baby Ryder, tucked into the place he already knows as home. Macy and Austin loving on him in the rooms where they rocked him at 2 a.m., changed a thousand diapers, drank reheated coffee, watched him take his first steps, and wonder one day how he ever fit so perfectly into their arms.

This is why I love in-home newborn sessions so much.
I don’t do the traditional posed newborn sessions with elaborate props and sets. My newborn work is lifestyle-inspired because I don’t just want you to remember what your baby looked like this tiny.
I want you to remember what this chapter felt like.
The way he curled against your chest.
The way your hands looked wrapped around his little body.
The nursery you spent months getting ready.
The blankets on the couch.
The sleepy snuggles.
The way your home looked when you first became his home.
Because someday the bottles will disappear from the counter. The bassinet will be packed away. His nursery will become a big-kid room. And that tiny little newborn who fit into the crook of your arm will somehow be running through these same hallways.

But you’ll have this.
Your family.
Your home.
Your baby.
Exactly as it was in the very beginning.

If you’re expecting, please don’t feel like your house has to be perfect for an in-home newborn session. It doesn’t. It just has to be yours.

Random Tuesday afternoons when the light hit their face perfectly and you thought oh my God, I need to remember this.

You have documented their entire childhood.

There is something about newborn sessions at home that I will never get over. No packing half your house into a diaper bag. No trying to get everyone out the door on time with a brand new baby. No unfamiliar space.
Just you.
Your baby. Your bed. Their nursery. The couch where you’ve spent a hundred sleepy hours already. The rooms where this brand new chapter of your life is actually unfolding.

Vic + JD welcomed me into their home to document these first days with Mamie Kate, and goodness. 🥹
