Lubee Bat Conservancy, Gainesville FL

Flying Fox, AKA Fruit Bat

Had the opportunity to attend photographers day at Lubee Bat Conservancy where we were allowed into the bat enclosures for an unobstructed view. This Flying Fox was just waking from his sleep when he started yawning and showing off his pearly whites. It appears we woke him from his beauty sleep!

Kanapaha Botanical Gardens, Gainesville Florida

Was at Kanapaha Botanical Gardens this morning after a tip-off from Nancy about mushrooms.

Tropisk Hvid Poresvamp (Favolus tenuiculus), Danish Translation "Tropical White Polypore". My camera has focus bracketing built in, I manually focus just before the foreground subject, then tell the camera to take 100 images from that point, to the background, in small incremental steps; 40 of the 100 were used for the stack.

Lumix G9m2 Olympus Pro 90mm (180) f/3.5 @ f/5.6 1/30 ISO50 40 image stack.

Fringed Sawgill (Lentinus crinitus). Not quite the Forest of Dean in the UK, but this location has more mushrooms than anywhere else I?ve so far explored in Florida.

Sweetwater Wetlands Park Gainesville, FL

What an epic catch this was to watch! This Anhinga put on quite a show. The fish was flipping every direction to try and escape. The Anhinga was struggling to keep up and at one point lost it or more like he let it go. Then, immediately dove back under and caught the second time. What resulted after was pretty much a gulp, gulp and gone situation.
