I’m often watching multi nature shows when I’m out in the wild. Photographing in one direction while being aware of other things going on. In this moment there were two Limpkins digging for snails in the invasive hyacinth but my primary focus was on documenting the snail kites swooping down and grabbing snails… until the snail kites dove right into the limpkin show and everything started happening faster than I could even understand what was happening.
After uploading the images I was blown away to see some of the details of their fight!
In one of the images it looks like the Limpkin is standing on top of both Snail Kites.
Lmk if you have any questions and or any thoughts on all of this or want to share some of your favorite bird stories.
I’m leaving here having even more curiosity for both the Snail Kites and Limpkins.
Photographed on the ancestral lands of the Potano of the Timucua affiliation, Miccosukee Tribe and Seminole Tribe.
