Thank you to all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

While Memorial Day is not here to honor those who have served or our currently serving, I must extend my thanks to those who have taken on the responsibility to serve and defend our country. Many of our servicemembers have not given their lives, but have sacrificed years, special events, milestones away from their families, and their bodies and mental health to serve our country.

So while we are enjoying this Monday off with our friends and family, raise a toast to all those who never came home.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mamas out there.

This not so little kiddo made me a mama 11 years ago and he has been the second heart beating outside of my body ever since. I am so grateful to be his mama and love him more than anything ever.

My favorite arts and crafts project, if I do say so myself.

True story: when I was running for re-election last fall, someone in the campaign was making a flyer and created an AI generated headshot of me. Me, a photographer.

I didn't have an updated professional headshot to send them, and I scrambled to find a photo that was usable.

The AI headshot was uncanny. My husband said, "it looks like you but like creepy and not like you."

All of this to say, I've since started doing a lot more professional headshots for friends and colleagues and I've realized that so many people don't have a recent headshot that puts their best face forward. (see above, one of my besties.)

So I'm offering a spring headshot refresh event. Quick & efficient sessions in my studio with two background options.

Did you know that my studio newborn sessions can incorporate mom & dad as well? If an in-home session isn't your thing, let's work together in my bright, neutral studio in Gales Ferry!

We'll do a mix of posed newborn photos, plus some snuggly photos with mom, dad, siblings, and even grandparents! Client closet dresses are available for mom, and a full selection of baby clothes and wraps are available for your sweet babe.

The best time to book your newborn session is in the second trimester. We'll put an estimated date on the calendar, and set an actual date (and location) once your baby is here.

I don’t show my face a lot here, so I figured I’d say hello!

I’m Jes, an unapologetic Disney adult, known for running away for a day or two to WDW at the drop of a hat. The not so little guy is my second heart, the one I love more than life itself, my little broke bestie who goes along on all the adventures — holds my hand on roller coasters, mouths along all the words during the Guardians pre show, and completes the Epcot scavenger hunts with me.
