Wolf's Ink Photography

07/28/2026

It is with a heavy heart that I will be needing to close down Wolf's Ink Photography for possibly the rest of the year (with past that being nebulous at best).

This year has been filled with with more hospital trips and doctor visits (for family) than I can even recall counting anymore, plus the home falling apart with water leaks and such. We've just received grim news today and while we're looking for a second opinion and options to move forward, we're all past frayed at the seams, exhausted, and broken over how this year has been playing out.

My trips, and therefore bookings for Colossal Con, Tokyo X, San Japan, and Oni Con are as of today - cancelled. I'm unsure about Anime Frontier in December, we'll see if my mental health can hold out that long.

As for those waiting for photos from Comicpalooza and Delta-H, please get with me when you can so we can discuss things moving forward. I still plan on getting the editing done, I'm just unsure about the timeline right now.

I am sorry I haven't been at my best for everyone here, but I hope that after this you'll understand what's been going on.

I love and miss you all, and if nothing else, thank you all for the past eleven years of letting me take photos for y'all. I know I wasn't the best, but I'm proud and grateful to call so many of y'all my friend, and some even family.

Lighting....
Why does it matter?
What kinds are there and how do I do I use them for what I'm watching to capture?
LED or Flash?
I'll be tackling these and more at Delta H Con this year :)

There will be live demos (during or after, time pending).

Going through work e-mails, this one's title got me.
"Burnout is a badge of honor; and other lies you hear around the office".

Good afternoon, John here (finally)

Can life just let me relax, for perhaps like two days before something else happens?

Since the last update, car's been to the shop twice, family member goes in for a major surgery (they're okay, home and resting finally!). Having to take over admin duties for several weeks. It's a wonder I have any gas left in the tank at all honestly. As soon as the week starts going well there's something else that needs my immediate attention.

======
But what does this all mean for photography?
======

I've been asked by a few people about Comicpalooza. I had a panel with Zhang.Mao.Mao.Cosplay but due to things going on in both of our lives, that panel has been canceled. That being said I've heard Lights, Camera, Pose! Is still on the schedule, but that may change on the app once the con arrives.

Photo shoot wise, I'll be doing shoots on Saturday and Sunday (provided I'm not called out to help in a family emergency (Y) ). I'm sorry that the announcement is late, but *waves vaguely* other things have been taking my attention.

[Other Cons]
San Japan is still a go as far as I'm aware of.
Delta H Con is also a go so far, even have a new panel in the works for it.
Colossalcon Texas is the main maybe, I'll have a better idea of things closer to that date to see how things with that family member are going steady with the recovery, pt, etc.
Oni Con is likely going to be a pass this year
Anime Frontier is still a go since it's far out enough that things should be more stable by then.

A rough mix of recent things have been taking me out the past few days, but without further adieu, let's talk about the 2025 Hall Shots Contest.

Category 1: Cosplayer winner - birds_symphonia
Category 2: Tagging winner - Kiki Rhinehart
Category 3: Mix category winner - TheCocoCoola

Thank you for everyone that participated!

Good morning everyone, John here

2026 has been rather busy out of the gate, and pulling 12-18 hours over time each week at the day job has been leaving me a tad burnt out. Working through a large wedding album for a friend is keeping my creativeness going during the con lull, but with everything going on it's been a tad bit of a struggle to be motivated to do much after coming home after work.

I'll be doing the hall shot raffle later this evening if all goes well today, or at least sometime this week.

I'm also going to make it a point this year to /not/ cover cosplay contests this year. As much as I enjoy capturing all of my friends and everyone else's entries, they're about as much if not more than my usual con albums and that's just more time out of working on the paid shoots and gigs.

Oni Con albums will also be posted this week, and then we'll be moving on to Anime Frontier later this month - which I'm oddly still waiting on picks for a few albums.

Take care everyone,
John
