Photographers, this is something we really want you to pay attention to.

We’ve barely opened the doors to OutWest and brands are already finding us on their own. They’re reaching out about campaigns, product shoots, editorial shoots, models and, increasingly, photographers.

And this is exactly what we hoped would happen.

OutWest was built to become a creative home base for brands, entrepreneurs, photographers and creatives. A place for campaigns, brand shoots, product launches, content days and editorials, with a creative community around it to help bring those ideas to life.

We’re entrepreneurs ourselves, and we’re passionate about helping other people build something of their own. We want to open doors to bigger opportunities, create connections that turn into real work, and help creatives build businesses that allow them to create a life by design.

Photographers, there’s a huge opportunity for you in that. Brands are discovering OutWest before they’ve even chosen their photographer. We want you positioned and ready when they do.

Imagine being able to tell a brand:

That’s why we’re creating opportunities for you to get inside OutWest, learn the space and create the work you want to be hired for.

First up is THE ICONS: GOLDEN LIGHT ERA on September 9. Six local entrepreneurs and creatives, professional hair + makeup, multiple OutWest sets and three hours to build editorial and brand work for your portfolio. Your walking billboards….

Then on September 24, come to the OutWest Field Trip. Explore the full 5,000-square-foot Creative House, photograph the sets, learn the light, update your own brand photos and capture OutWest through your lens.

There are businesses all over the Treasure Valley that need campaigns, launches, product photography and fresh brand content year-round. There is room to build a full-time brand photography business here. We’re building the home for it.

From October 1 through December 31, The Villa Stidio at OutWest becomes …

THE CHRISTMAS HAUS. 🎄

And our calendar is officially OPEN for holiday season bookings!

For three months, we’re transforming The Villa for Christmas with multiple holiday worlds, giving photographers completely different looks, moods and ways to create all season long.

You’ll find Saddle Club Christmas, our old-money, Ralph Lauren-inspired holiday set layered in deep greens, tartan, burgundy, aged leather and equestrian details.

Noël Noir brings something completely different. Black, white, chrome and a little sparkle for the holiday card that would rather blend out than in.

Villa Noël brings an old-world Mediterranean Christmas into the Warehouse Studio with beautiful greenery, warm neutrals and simple, European-inspired holiday styling.

We’ll be adding more sets, little corners and unexpected Christmas moments throughout OutWest, all with the same approach we bring to the Creative House year-round: editorial and stylish!

Think of The Christmas Haus almost like checking into a European Christmas hotel.

And with 5,000 square feet and multiple studios, there will still be plenty of room to create outside of Christmas, too.

Six incredible local ICONS, each with completely different personalities, brands and personalities to photograph.

Each ICON will have professional hair + makeup and move through multiple sets throughout our sprawling 5,000-square-foot Creative House. OutWest will be fully open for you to explore, and we’ll chase that late-summer golden light as it moves through the space, giving you different sets, light, angles and opportunities to create throughout the night.

But THE ICONS has always been about more than walking away with beautiful photos. These nights are about creating alongside other talented photographers, meeting the people behind some really cool local brands and businesses, making connections and being part of the creative community growing inside OutWest.

This was originally created as a private OutWest event, but we decided to open a handful of spots for photographers who want to experience OutWest right as we open and immediately start building their OutWest portfolios.

The energy at these events is something you just have to experience.

Different photographers. Different lenses. Different perspectives. One really beautiful night.

Light snacks + drinks will be waiting for you.

We’ve opened up a few more OutWest memberships!

OutWest memberships were created for photographers and creatives who want to make the Creative House part of their business, not just somewhere they rent every once in a while. The more you create here, the lower your hourly rate gets.

All memberships come with a 3-month commitment, and your membership pricing is locked in for one full year.

But the membership is about more than discounted studio hours. Members receive FREE tickets to OutWest events, including opportunities like THE ICONS, plus promotion through The OutWest Collective, where we’re building a place for local brands and businesses to find photographers and creatives they want to work with.

Our Studio Partners also receive a featured profile on the OutWest website, giving potential clients another way to discover their work.

NOËL NOIR: 🖤

How do you make your holiday card BLEND OUT, NOT IN?

Make it black + white.

This is Christmas Concept No. 03, and we wanted one of our holiday sets to feel completely different from the sea of traditional Christmas photos that hit your mailbox every December.

NOËL NOIR was designed for a classy B&W photograph.

Think black modern sofa, white Christmas tree, chrome, a few disco balls and just enough sparkle reflecting across the walls. Clean. Modern. A little unexpected. Very editorial.

Of course, we’re building the actual set in color because we want you to create your own way. Bring in a bold wardrobe. Keep it monochromatic. Shoot with flash. Add grain. Go moody. Go playful. Or turn the whole thing black + white like we imagined.

The set gives you the starting point. Your photographer gets to make it yours.

And if everyone else’s holiday card is red, green and gold this year? Yours might just MAKE THEM REMEMBER YOU.

OUTWEST FIELD TRIP: Photographer Edition

WHO’S YOUR PHOTO PLAYDATE?

Photographers … the wait is finally over.

We know so many of you have been waiting to get inside the new OutWest, so on September 24, we’re inviting 20 photographers in for a private preview and a FREE OutWest Field Trip.

Grab your favorite photo playdate (awkward if you have more than one … how will you choose?!!!!) and come see what we’ve been building. You’ll have 5,000 square feet, multiple studios, sets and shooting spaces to wander through, photograph and experience for yourself.

And since photographers are usually the ones behind the camera, we thought this was the perfect excuse to change that. Take turns with your photo playdate, update your own brand photos, find your favorite corners and capture OutWest in a way that lets your clients see what you could create here with them.

But this Field Trip is also a little glimpse into why OutWest exists in the first place.

We didn’t build a pretty space just to give you somewhere to shoot. OutWest was created to be a place where photographers can grow their businesses. A place to create work that gets you noticed, bring your clients somewhere that makes their experience feel special, build your portfolio, make connections and have more room to dream a little bigger.

We’re keeping the evening completely open-house style. Come anytime between 4–9 PM, stay as long as you’d like, meet some other photographers, grab a snack and play.

See the house. Shoot in it. Get inspired by it. And start imagining what you can create here for your clients and your business.

And don’t worry … we’ll pack a “lunch” for you!

BOISE, PICK UP. OUTWEST IS CALLING. ☎️

We are officially less than ONE WEEK away from opening the doors to the OUTWEST Creative House.

We started building this dream in January, and eight months later, we’re finally at the finish line.

Nearly 5,000 square feet in Garden City, created for photographers, brands, creators and entrepreneurs who want more room to create work people actually remember.

Inside you’ll find a massive warehouse with a full cyclorama, three glass garage doors, the Creative Lounge, The Villa studio, and layered environments that let you completely change the look and feel of a shoot without ever leaving the building. When you book OutWest, the entire Creative House is yours.

But the space itself has never been the whole vision.

Our mission is to build the premier creative house and community where photographers and brands come together, while helping photographers build sustainable, year-round creative businesses. We want OUTWEST to become the place brands think of first when it’s time to create, and a place where entrepreneurs can build imagery with the creative presence to compete on a national or global stage.

We’re also building the kind of creative community we want to see exist in Boise, where relationships become referrals, collaborations and opportunities. STAY TUNED FOR MORE DETAILS of how we plan to put more eyes on the photographers, brands and incredible people creating here.
