To my Douglas Girls!! what an incredible year this has been. Watching you grow into yourselves, both behind and in front of the lens, has been such a joy. You’ve shown up authentically, made me laugh (a LOT), and reminded me why I love what I do. Today is yours—take it all in. To my Carson girls who graduate tomorrow!!! this year with you has been such a gift. I’ve watched you become more confident and comfortable with yourselves, both in front of the camera and beyond. We’ve laughed, been ourselves, and I’ve had the privilege of really getting to know who you are. Just a quick sneak peek of today’s Hot Air Balloon shoot!

A GIGANIC shout out to Shelby! the amazing pilot and balloon owner, and her crew Charis and Brynna and my amazing friend and crew/coordinator of all things Lorelei! And huge thanks to Kennli who came to film her skillful behind the scenes and assist me! It takes a village to do these big shoots!

The past week was filled with connecting with other like-minded creatives and it completely filled my cup.
We made lots of memories and learned more about each other and ourselves.

As I was flying home I asked the group to help me come up with ideas for this video… and while they could have COMPLETELY roasted me, they chose some good inside jokes instead :) and I’m grateful some of the things we talked about stayed in Chattanooga 😂

This video may not be a comedy show, but it reminds me of this trip and the connections that I am thankful I got to nurture and grow. Here to the next trip!

All we ever want as human beings is to feel loved and to feel seen, exactly how we are.

Jessica and I first connected when I photographed her wedding maybe like 10 years ago! She is a wonderful mother of two young girls now, and she puts her whole self into being a mother. But you all deserve a little reminder of what makes you special in addition to motherhood too. She is hilarious, SO loving and loyal, and always there to accept you as you are too.

We arranged a time to create together recently. Playing with light and making her feel seen was my goal. Isn’t she stunning? And those images we got with her laugh mean a lot to me as well because she is hilarious (and stunning!)

I am so beyond grateful that I get to give that feeling to so many people, both in front of the camera and away from it.

2016 was definitely a year of growth for me and my business. I really found my passion for Senior photography and I signed up my first structured Senior Team (called a “Model team” back then), and really felt like I was in a super creative place.

THANKS FOR TRUSTING ME YOU GUYS! 😉

Practicing and playing with my craft. I genuinely feel like I started to find my own style that year, and it has continued to build every year since! From the very beginning I was into seeing and playing with light. Pushing the mood a little bit. And although I used to use a bit more matting of my shadows back then, the vibrant colors I still LOVE started then too.

All of these images are from 2016 but I’d still post them today. 1000%

I will always cater to what my clients are looking for, a bit of what is popular at the time, but I also love that we can create something together that is timeless. 🙂

I’m about to start signing up my 12th Senior Team and I can’t wait to see what 2016 has in store for us!
