I create vivid, intimate portraits of humans and wildlife that invite viewers to pause, connect, and appreciate the beauty, wisdom, and individuality of the natural world. I try to capture not just what is visually in my viewfinder, but also the emotion in the moment. I have been a photographer for over 40 years now, but I am always trying to be on the cutting edge of what is available in the field. I will always strive to give my best to my clients.

Chiastla and the Navajo Free Herd of AZ.
As a Landscape and Wildlife Photographer, you tend to want the perfect lighting situation. Post Dawn or Pre sunset would have made a stunning photograph here.
Instead, you have almost midday light on a really cool landmark. Maybe not that impressive, but I really couldn't ask the herd to "come back in the morning", for their photo session. 😂
The horses are magical free roaming....kinda like want to be.

Some might look at this and think..."it's a dove, okay" and keep scrolling.
I dare you to actually look closer. blow it up on your screen. Does it look like the doves you have seen before? Notice the blue around the eye and the detail around the neck area. Just little details that God decided would be fun to make for us to enjoy.
I hope you look at this photo and it makes you smile. Just like I think God smiled when He made it for us. ❤

These photos are from an Alaska trip I took a few years back. I was wanting to show everyone how sometimes it is really freakin' hard to get a photo of an animal, but I still want to show all the beauty God has made, so I sometimes show a 'less than perfect' photo just so you can see SOMETHING.
This juvenile was wandering by the river stopping occasionally to scratch its belly and eat things in the grass and the grass itself.
It was midday (no shadow), FAR AWAY and SUPER BRIGHT, so this is what showed up. I have a few more editing skills under my belt now, but I think it is kinda fun to see how I have progressed over the years.

Juvenile Coati and older female Coati from one of my adventures in Panama.
FUN FACT FRIDAY:
that snout is their SUPERPOWER - It is highly mobile and they use it to root through leaf litter for insects, spiders, lizards and fruit. The long ringed tail (from the Raccoon family), is used for balance in trees and they love to hold it like a flag pole in tall vegetation to keep track of each other. Unlike their raccoon cousins, they are active in the daytime.

The Malachite butterfly (Siproeta stelenes) is showing its beautiful underside while roosting under a leaf. With the mix of orange, cream, and pale minty blue windows, It almost looks like a polished shell. The upper side is a classic black and jade stained glass pattern which is where it gets it's name from. They are common throughout Panama, which is where I was when I found it, as I wandered along a path.
