231 Fusion 13u in their games today at the Softball Spectacular in Traverse City. 2 players to cover for this team with Kendi and Ava. 2 years in-a-row in this tourney for these 2 :) Added a few of them, and just a couple of other players. They went 3-0 in their pool play, and are the #1 seed of an 8-team bracket for Championship Sunday. These games were at TC West, which is the first time I have been at their new softball/baseball fields. A+ for the players and fans to play and watch games here, but I have to give it an F for a photographer :) Fences are high around each of these fields where I cannot even use my ladder to get above them. One field does have the netting behind the plate which is awesome, but otherwise you are taking photos through the fence for the entire game if you do not have the field access. I did not push it, and just worked through the fence, and afew on the opening in the dugout for batting a few times. I would love to see a small photographer box at fields like this, but of course I am partial to that. I am sure that is way down the want list when they are allocating funds to build these fields. It would be awesome though. Long and short of it....a tough field to take action photos at.

213 Fusion 11u softball in their morning games today in pool play at the Softball Spectacular in Traverse City. Glad I made the 8:10 AM game, although a bit into it, as I saw and photographed Sophia blasting one over the fence. Dang she hit that ball hard. It made an awesome sound coming off of her bat. 2 players to focus on with Sophia and Vivienne. Photos of them in this set, along with some other random players. They went 2-1 in their pool play, and will be the #3 seed of 6 teams in bracket play tomorrow for the Championship. Good luck!

12u Michigan’s Premier North today with 2 games in Charlevoix to open the Sunset Showdown tournament. They struggled a bit at times in these 2 games but did give me a bunch of photo opportunties for the 3 players I covered today. Added in a few extra of others in this post as well.

I will have another opportunity to see them again in the beginning of August for the tourney in Petoskey. That is currently available to register for at; rdsportsphoto.gfcrew.com

Tomorrow off to TC to cover 4 231 Fusion softball players in their tourney games. Nothing like heading into the teeth of the Cheery Festival :)

Here is what I have locked in for Friday and Saturday for baseball & softball.

Friday - I will be in Charlevoix for Northern Michigan Premier 12U baseball. They have a game at 12-noon, and one that follows right after at 1:45pm. Would love to pick-up 1 more player for this team. I know a few others are waiting for the Petoskey early August tourney though.

Saturday - At the Softball Spectactular in TC for a 9:30am game with 11u 231 Fusion and 1:30pm for a 13u 231 Fusion game. Would love 1 more player for 11u. It would be best to keep it at 2-players for each game as they are time limited.

I have been on a self imposed break for the last 2-weeks, so will be good to get out and take some photos this weekend. If your team is not showing, but have an interest, please let me know and I will see if the time schedule of games if I can make it work out. Added the Traverse City Softball Spectacular for Friday games. I think I photographed 10 athletes in this tournament last year. I did not think I was going to be able to do it this year, but this Friday can work. This is mainly for 231 Fusion & TC Waves;

9U - 231 Fusion 5:40pm at CC5
10U - 231 Fusion Campbell - 1:40PM at CC5
11U - 231 Fusion - 3PM at CC4
12U - 231 Fusion - 5:30PM at TCC 1
13U - 231 Fusion - 2:50PM - TCW 1

13U - TC Waves - 1:30PM at CC2
16U - TC Waves - 4:20PM at TCW 2

These are the teams that are possible. Some of these run together on times, so this may be very fluid, and the Cherry Festival may make it a bit harder to move around quickly. I have a baseball player I need to do in Charlevoix on either Friday or Saturday as well, so may adjust all of this and have Sunday as possible as well. If I cannot make it work, I will refund the sign-up.

I have had a few sign-ups for my July listing of basebal & softball tournaments, except for the Petoskey Sunset Showdown this weekend, so posting this as a stand alone for this tournament. The teams to focus on in our area are the Michigan Premier North 10u; 11u & 12u baseball teams, along with the Ga***rd Elite 11u.

$100 per athlete will net you 30+ images, possibly more based on the flow of the game, playing time etc. These timed out games can be different.
