⚠️ATTENTION THIS IS A LOOONNGGG READ⚠️
So here is the story of Rosie the Chocolate Lab. And I hope you all enjoy.
To say the least before I dive deep into this, I personally want to stand up and give everyone a round of applause. This was 110% a team effort. THANK YOU ALL!!!
Here we go. Rosie was in her owners car when they got in to an accident. Being an already skiddish dog she bolted when she seen the first available moment. Hey we get it, mistakes happen, alot of moving parts going on during that very moment. But I will say this, her owners NEVER gave up looking for this sweet little girl.
She was initially spotted by another drone company the night of the accident. But we believe with her being scared and not sure who was in the dark woods with her, she didn't want to come to them. Then there's the downside...she went into hiding, no sightings or anything for quite a few days. Mind you she had gotten out on the 12th of March, I dont believe we received an actual sighting of her till that next Friday the 20th when her owners reached out to my company.
Upon arriving on scene that Friday the 20th I ended up covering 400 acers in no time, but unfortunately.....no Rosie. This little girl can move, her owners call her the Chocolate Rocket. So back to the drawing boards and coming up with a new plan. Then I remembered how AWESOME my followers are and recruited you guys for help. With 1 single post, sightings were flying in and to even get trail camera videos and pictures was AMAZING!!!
We started to hone in on her area and with that came a sighting yesterday that sealed the deal. A sweet couple that was buying plants at the nursery called Rosie's owners and they inturn immediately called me. Im out the door running to get there as fast as I can to lay eyes on her. Once we deployed the drone something by a house spooked her and she bolted. Having to reposition quickly to stay ahead of her, her owners were hot on the trail behind me.
With us in a new spot I coordinate with Rosie's owners daughter and there dog Rylee (best bud)
to get them in the right spot to hopefully have Rosie come to them. But unfortunately I think there were to many moving parts in the nursery that she didn't feel safe approaching them. So AGAIN back to the drawing boards. I enlisted the help of my AMAZING wife and she brought out my 33 foot lead to try and string Rylee out there like a kite and see if Rosie will come to just her.
AND IT FREAKING WORKED!!!
Rosie seen her best bud Rylee
and there was that SNAP of her being pulled out of flight mode. It was truly amazing to see how a dog goes from flight mode and being scared to knowing, holy crap I know these people, I know this familiar face and scent.
Unfortunately I didn't get it on video, I was helping her owner (her mom) out with directions to try and do a joint rescue if she were to come through the woods patch we were by. BUT HEY, this was an INCREDIBLE TEAM EFFORT WIN!!!
Rosie was on the run for a whopping 13 days!!!
She is going to the Vet in the A.M. to get a look over and hopefully shes getting some MUCH needed sleep and cookies (her dog treats)
Thank you to the owners for entrusting my company to get the job done.
LETS GOOO!!!
