🔴⚽️📷🟢 I'm gonna overload you all. Battle of the Birds—SCHS Boys' Soccer vs Great Crossing Soccer Warhawks. This was the first guys' soccer game I have ever gone to to take photos. It was a fun game to watch, but it was uncomfortably and ridiculously hot. I was not a soccer player, so every soccer game I go to, I am learning about the game. I had to really ease in and figure out the best places to be to be in front of the action. Yeah....that is easier said than done...ha! Here are some highlights from the Varsity match. I will share some from the JV match later.

I have a crazy number of photos I am editing at the moment. It is just me, and well, I care about how the photos look, so I do go through every one of them to cull and do some editing....cropping and straightening. That is what I believe sets photographers apart, you know? Whether you realize it or not, its that attention to detail that makes an image really applealing. I am a designer by profession, so you best believe I am going to pay attention to the details before I release them into the world.... 🫶

📷⚽️This has been a big editing week for me, and I forgot to post my game schedule for the week like I said I was going to do! We all know Mother Nature has thrown us some pretty wicked heat the past few days, so...weather permitting...I plan to be at the Boys Soccer Battle of the Birds— SCHS Boys' Soccer vs Great Crossing Soccer Warhawks game Thursday evening. If you'd like to get on my list for action shots, I will put a link down in the comments to sign up! Once we learn that the game(s) are a go, I can then send out Venmo requests!

💚🎓💙Great Crossing Senior—Class of 2027

When I started taking basketball photos in 2022, Graham was in 8th grade with a pretty amazing group of boys at Scott County Middle. It was a lot of fun to have such great bunch of boys to practice my action photos for my first official year. When Graham's mom reached out to me about Senior photos, I was excited because I knew we just had to include something basketball related. As for style and feel, she had told me she loved the photos I took of a Scott County basketball player a couple years ago. Since those were some of my absolute favorite photos I have ever taken, I was pretty excited for this Senior session!

If you have followed me for a while, you know that I am a sucker for beautiful natural light...and I will wait for it and follow it. It just feels instinctual for me. There is nothing like having the freedom and spontaneity to move around using the golden hour sun. This was the perfect setting with the black barn, the fields of corn, the beautiful tree over-hanging the path leading back to the fields. It all was made even more perfect with...the light. And Graham... that smile! We got very few photos of that kid without a smile.

Thank you Elizabeth and Graham for asking me to do your Senior photos. Good luck to you, Graham, this Senior year! I am looking forward to seeing you on the court this winter season!

💙🏀🩵 SNEAK PEEK! I was able to squeeze these ladies in for their Media Day on Friday before heading over to the Battle of the Birds football game! This year the Royal Spring Lady Titans Basketball team has one lone 8th grader... so we let her be front and center. We also changed it up a little this year for the individual photos (peek of those to come at a later date.) We took photos in the locker room with the awesome blue lockers! I had done that with a couple teams in the past at RSMS, but I was happy to go back to it for something a bit different!
