So. Many. Personalities.

You think you’ve got the parenting thing down (aren’t you cute?) and the next kid is totally different.

And the next..and…

This is one of the many reasons that I love what I do. The infinite variety of humans that we encounter on the daily in the studio.

Sure, your kids are gorgeous—who couldn’t get a nice photo of them?

But I like to push the envelope—I like the challenge to get everyone comfy so we can show each kid as they really are.

A recent text from a Mom before the portrait session:

“Pedicures, manicures, haircuts, brows waxed, dry cleaning drop off and pick up, facial, multiple trips to fashion square, appts for makeup and hair, all timed perfectly so as not to arrive a minute late, testing eyelash glue for allergic reactions, jewelry bought and returned, multiple packages opened and returned, suits that were ordered and came in wrong, and returned and fitted 2 more times to get it right, and multiple arguments won and lost over clothes and other things they have no say in.

And someday I will look at these pictures with tears remembering this moment in time when we all still lived under one roof for the last few months.

I’m already crying.”

Is it worth it? Yes, yes it is.
