I still see a lot of artists speaking out about ai. And honestly… I understand why.

As artists, we spend years developing our style, technique, vision, and voice. It feels defeating when people claim work that isn’t truly theirs or sell som**hing created without the same level of human intention, care, and craftsmanship. Sometimes Facebook labels ai-generated work… sometimes it doesn’t.

But this page is not about bashing anyone or questioning another person’s integrity or education about nor completely speaking about against the use of ai as an assisting tool.

This space, and my art, is for humans who value other humans. Especially the ones who value the entire experience and the process, not just the final image.

From our first conversation, to me learning about you and becoming inspired by your story… to carefully curating your session, guiding you through the process, and watching you leave feeling seen and good about yourself.

And finally, the artwork itself. A piece I spent hours creating... editing, painting and shaping each piece to tell your story through my artistic vision.

These portraits are deeply personal to me.

Here are a few screenshots from sweet Miss Lainey’s storybook portrait: the final artwork, the original image, and the hand-painted background I created specifically for this piece. An excerpt of only 3 layers (out of 40+) that came together to create her little world.

Thank you for being here. Thank you for valuing human connection, intentional art, and the work that goes into creating som**hing meaningful.

I used to think my work was mostly about photographing women.

And in many ways, it was.
I wanted women to feel seen because for a very long time, I didn’t feel seen either.

But life has a way of softening and reshaping us.

The healthier and more loved I have felt in my own life, the more I’ve started recognizing the quiet power of healthy masculinity too. The kind that protects. Leads gently. Perseveres. The kind that chooses growth over ego.

And Malcom embodies that strength in such a powerful way.

There was a time in his life where addiction nearly consumed everything. Years lost to m**h addiction, jail, and a path that could have easily ended very differently. But somewhere in the middle of all that darkness, someone gave him one more chance. Lifeline Recovery Center here in Paducah became the turning point that changed his life.

Today, he is sober, disciplined, building a future, loving his fiancée deeply, and showing up for the people around him every single day.

And I think stories like this matter.

Because men need to be seen too.
Not only for who they were… but for who they fought to become.

There is som**hing incredibly powerful about a man who rebuilds himself from the ground up.

Do you remember the vivid worlds you created when you were little? The ones that felt so real you could completely disappear into them for hours…

Creating this imaginary little world for Miss Lainey brought me right back to my own childhood dreams and the magic that lived inside them. ✨

And now she gets to have her very own storybook image to hold onto long after childhood fades into memory.

Happy belated Mother’s Day 🤍

I hope you all felt the love and appreciation yesterday. I am so incredibly grateful for my little family. The moment I woke up, I was completely showered with love. Handmade art from my children, breakfast and dinner cooked with love, and this beautiful custom bouquet from my love, Scott Hall. Flower + Furbish absolutely outdid themselves, as always.

I can look back on seasons of life where I didn’t feel appreciated or seen the way I needed to. The biggest shift for me came when I started making myself just as important as every other member of my family. We can make sacrifices for the people we love while still practicing self love and care for ourselves too.

And the moment I started choosing myself, I also started becoming the best version of myself, not only for me, but for the people I love most.

So moms, if you are tired or feeling unseen… know that I see you. So I wanted to remind you today that you are doing an amazing job 💐

It’s been a while since we created together…

Life shifted, seasons changed, and time moved faster than expected. But stepping back into this space today felt like coming home and at the same time like we never missed a beat.

I really missed us! 💖✨💖

This was a fun session again for VUE magazine 's annual Mother Child Lookalike contest! Which reminds me that I never shared my remaining Mother's Day Spots. After my regulars claimed their sessions, I only had a few left for May 11th. Message me if you want it!

Watching little ones grow will never stop feeling special to me.

I photographed her mom when she was pregnant with her…
and now here she is - Lainey Sparrow, year three of capturing your precious essence.

Still sweet, still curious, still holding onto a little bit of magic.

Creating portraits is som**hing deeply personal. I don't follow trends or even what is easily flattering. I capture the way I see YOU!
The quiet details, the personality, the kind of beauty that isn’t shaped to please the masses. It simply exists!

Thank you for your kind review Holly Howard

“Lydia Schnitzer doesn't take pictures. She excavates.
The portrait she made of me is one of the most honest images I've ever seen of myself - not flattering in the easy sense, but true. She worked in shadow the way a sculptor works in stone: removing everything unnecessary until what's left is just the person. Her light finds what most photographers cover up.

She is a fine art photographer/artist in the truest sense. Not by title - by instinct. If you want someone who will see you clearly and have the courage to show it, she's your person.”

When you come to me, you’re not booking a photoshoot but you are stepping into a very personalized artistic process.
