I feel really privileged watching this piece evolve and morph into what it's becoming. It's like watching a child grow up. While holding true to its original shape and core, it has grown in ways that, as an outsider, I never saw coming.

So much to do on this giant- Started this 3'x2' canvas at Dawn of Times, last May. I keep seeing things, and then adding them as I go. I also painted out a building and added sunflowers- big change.

The biggest issue I'm facing with this painting, is dry time. In acrylics I move and work fast, with oils I keep smearing the paint😂 Have some upcoming painting ideas with smears in mind now, might as well use my mistakes to my advantage after all. 👍😊

Decided to play in my backyard Saturday night and caught up with
Southern Moonshine Committee at Davidson's in Gilmer.

A three-piece band from Paris, Texas, self-described as Southern Rock, the group seems comfortable with multiple genres.

With Trey Wolf on drums and lead vocals, Dana Eaton on guitar and backing vocals, and Perry Thompson laying down the bass and backing vocals, the group put on a good show! I definitely want to see more.

And as always... support live music and those who make it possible.

Artist Spotlight….. a series dedicated to the visual artists who bring live music to life. From live painters and mural artists to liquid light artists, projectionists, lighting designers, and digital creators, we want to celebrate the artists whose work adds another dimension to every show and festival.

Our first Artist Spotlight features MeatSandal aka Brock Blanton

MeatSandal brings a visual light show that is every bit as mesmerizing as it is cool. His style blends flowing liquid visuals with glitch-inspired effects, creating an atmosphere that constantly shifts, evolves, and pulls you deeper into the music.

If you ask me, it's a "trippy hippie experience." Ask Brock, and he'd probably describe it with one perfect word…WONKY.

Whatever you choose to call it, one thing is certain, it's an experience. His visuals don't just accompany the music; they become part of it, transforming every performance into something truly immersive.

MeatSandal hits the road this week with two festivals lined up. Under The Stars
July 24-26 in Missouri and the Terp Float Festival July 30, to August 2 in Oklahoma. Safe travels brother!
