The number has been above that door since this building opened in 1926.

Local lore says that in 1928, an unmarried nurse named Mary was found hanging from a light fixture inside this room. The legend claims she was pregnant by a doctor who performed a fatal procedure and staged the scene to protect himself.

Four years later, in 1932, a second nurse assigned to this room allegedly went through the fifth-floor window. Jumped, or pushed. No one knows.

While historical records neither confirm nor deny these stories, they have defined this space for decades.

Visitors today consistently report an overwhelming feeling of dread the moment they cross this threshold and a disembodied voice that tells them to get out.

The property owners have watched the lights turn on in this room from outside the building. With no power connected.

Fifth floor. Room 502.

Sometimes you have to strip away the background noise to fully appreciate what’s right in front of you.

I isolated this bloom to let the deep shadows and natural textures do the talking. No distractions, no cluttered environment; just a heavy dose of cinematic chiaroscuro pulling the details of the center right to the surface.

It’s easy to walk past the small things when you're focused on the bigger picture, but macro photography forces you to slow down. It’s all about capturing that tactile realism and proving that even the simplest subjects hold an incredible amount of complex design when the light hits them just right.

Let me take you back to Louisville Kentucky, 1900.

The highest tuberculosis death rate in all of America.

They built this place on a hill to contain it.

Somewhere between 8,000 (according to facts) and 68,000 (according to the legends) people died inside these walls. One per day at the peak.

The bodies couldn't leave through the front. Living patients couldn't see the dead being carried out.

So they built a tunnel, 500 feet underground. A motorized cable system that led straight to the railroad tracks.

They called it the Body Chute.

Room 502 still has two nurses who never left.

This building had its own zip code.

It might be cooling down, but these family moments are heating up!🍂✨

We had the perfect fall afternoon capturing the Bunch/Lopez family's session.

Between the adorable baby corn (slide 1!🌽🥹 ), father-son rides in the little red car, and catching that perfect golden hour light during stroller time, this session was filled with genuine smiles.

Swipe through to see some favorites from this sweet autumn session.

Same place, different moods; which is your favorite?

Light completely dictates the narrative of a landscape. You can stand in the exact same spot, with the exact same glass, and capture four entirely different worlds just by waiting out the atmosphere. The subject is just the anchor; the sky does all the heavy lifting.

Swipe to see how the environment shifts. Let me know which grade hits hardest for you.

She claimed the chair.

The chair, the room, the light, the camera, and whatever comes after.

She was informed of none of this. It simply became true.

You don’t need to travel farther. You need to look closer.

This photograph was made with a spoon, two forks, a kitchen counter, and an idea.

The concept came before the camera.

Fine art photography isn’t about finding extraordinary subjects. It’s about seeing ordinary things differently.

Every line, shape, reflection, shadow, and placement in this frame was chosen to support a single visual illusion.

The subject didn’t create the image.

The vision did.
