This might ruffle some feathers:
There’s something about the current entrepreneurship space I can’t stand and I hope changes.
There are these phrases chanted everywhere right now, like:
“Work less for more”
“Work smarter not harder”
“Passive income”
etc.
And don’t get me wrong, I believe in alllll those sayings. I live them. I recommend them.
But what I think we sometimes lose is the importance of straight up: hard. work. Sometimes I worry that as an industry, we’ve lost the understanding of how necessary it is.
We see the reels that say “How I Made 100k in Passive Income While Sunbathing In Bali”
or
“My 30-Second 3-Part Framework is Going to Make You a Millionaire by 30”
I’m sorry but WHAT ARE WE BELIEVING these days…?😅
What false narrative are we buying into??
What half-truths are we believing?
It’s interesting. I don’t know a SINGLEEEE person (not even a little bit) who achieved something remotely great who didn’t have to go through a significant season of HARD. CONSISTENT. WORK to get where they are.
Yes, even the ones who did it the “smart” way.
Even the ones who used all the “hacks.”
Even the ones who did “less for more.”
Even if they got help.
No one escapes the DOING.
This is not to glorify workaholism. It can be just as dangerous as laziness. And if you know me at all, you know that true REST is something I constantly preach. And outsourcing. And systems. And balance. Etc.
But sometimes, the work just needs to get done. And doing that work relentlessly is, in itself, something I hope we can come to admire again.
To the person who’s working daily trying to build your business and provide for your family… keep going, my friend.
To the person who’s exhaustively building to a new goal they set for themself… you got this.
Well done.
Don’t quit. I’m right there with you.
No one ever achieved something great by choosing what was easy.
