10 days away from Christmas Eve and the Christmas cards have started rolling in. My girls and I run to the mailbox everyday to check the mail to see who has sent us a card tha day. There is something so nostalgic about checking the mail. Unfortunately mail is now saturated with ads, bills and flyers, with less joyful letters and cards like before. The only time of the year that mail is fun is the holiday season! The best part about it now is receiving cards with pictures I have taken! No gift is better from a friend or client than seeing my pictures become their family treasures and Christmas memories 🤍

Every Christmas as a parent looks different. Some Christmas’ your kids are too little to even know what’s happening. Some they finally start walking and understand how to unwrap a gift. Others may be the first year your kid can write their own letter to Santa. And one year it’ll be your first Christmas you don’t even buy toys and just get your kids the makeup and shoes they have been begging for. Every year will look different but it will always be special and a glimpse of time to remind you of that year of changes.

It’s why Christmas photos are so important to me. One moment to look back on and remember the sweetness of their childhood and your parenthood 🫶🏻

And these photos were exactly that. The sweetest glimpse of time ♥️

Christmas Minis yesterday were pure magic! What a beautiful day to photograph these sweet families! I have one more day reserved for minis (Dec 7th) and two more time slots if you are interested. It’s truly the sweetest Christmas nook you’ll ever find 🫶🏻

All the questions that go through your head when you start dreaming of having a family.
How many will we have?
Will we have multiple?
I wonder if I’ll have boys or girls?
What would we name them?
Who will they grow up to be?
Will we even be able to get pregnant?
How many years should we wait between each kid?
Do we buy bunk beds if we have twins?
Will I ever be a Mom driving a van?
How will they get alone?
Maybe we just have one!

And then this happens. You look at your kids and think, “I can’t believe I’m here. I can’t believe they are all mine.” And nothing else feels remotely as fulfilling than this feeling!

These two are mine. They are unbelievably cute in front of the camera but ALWAYS bribed when we take photos. They never immediately say yes to family photos, even knowing how important they are to everyone. They often times nag before, during and after every session, and they always have an opinion on what they want to wear and what they want in their hair. All of this to say, if you are ever worried about your kids behavior during a session, or stressed about how they are going to behave during a session… remember me. This is my job and my girls make me sweat every time, but the photos are always a win, and every time it’s always worth it, even if it ages me 😂🫶🏻

My heart was so happy photographing this family and their joy of just being together on this beautiful fall morning with nothing to worry about but the giggles of togetherness.

There is nothing better than being playful and fun together as a family. I love this unit of four and am so happy for their family, what a year they have overcome with so much to be thankful for!

Thank you for trusting me with your photos every milestone of the way, you all are the best and your babies are as beautiful as can be!

As for this fall weather - VA, keep it up! Let these magical leaves stay a little longer and the air feel crisp with a beaming sun all month long. NO ONE is complaining 🫶🏻

There are very few families that are this connected outside of photos as much as they are during a photo session. And that all comes from the core of this family, the beautiful grandparents. I mean, how can you not smile looking at their sweetness! What a joy you all are - ALWAYS 🫶🏻
