Enjoyed a sweet evening with the family. Christmas music played while I cooked and the kids made art. Then closed it out with family worship night and pay day! This is what dreams are made of.

Watching how the oldest looked at mom during their whole session melted my heart. ❤️ It’s pretty special and eye opening how we (parents) are our kids favorite people most of their childhood. That knowledge alone has helped me reframe how I communicate with my own kids. It’s so easy to shut them up and shut them down, but knowing we’re their whole world for such a big part of their development has changed that for me. And at a different point in time, knowing this would’ve filled me with shame of my past failures and fear of future failures, but now, rather than setting my eyes on fear, I’m able to set my eyes on the many opportunities I have before me! There’s time to get it right. There’s time to learn. There’s time to make mistakes. There’s time to apologize. There’s time to grow and change and champion. Because as much as it’s a journey for our little ones, it’s a journey for us. There is grace. There is hope. There is Jesus. There’s nothing that can do more harm than acting out of shame and fear. That only screws us over in the end. Instead, I’m looking to Jesus for help. I’m becoming good with getting it wrong sometimes, apologizing and practicing getting it right and moving on.💕

This was a fun early morning in the city which I haven’t done in a while. This Saturday is my final day of the year for family portraits!! That way when you book, you still have some time to get out Christmas cards or maybe you just want a cozy winter session to have for yourself. If that’s you, message me today🥰.

Last working weekend of the year🌲🙈 ! I cannot believe how quick the end of the year came. I’ve got a SIX month old which is just insane. My oldest is having her 4th grade Xmas performance tonight and is one of the tallest in her class. My third born just lost her first two teeth back to back last month. Right after the holidays my second born turns EIGHT and I’m feeling like I need time to sloowwww down!! I’m so grateful for this life and being able to watch these kiddos grow.
