Most of you know me personally but to those who don't I wanted to introduce myself and tell you some things about me. First off my name is Shannon Marie Lykens (formally Bolton) and I am 32 years old and married to my wonderful husband who is finally home with us after serving his 4 years in the Navy in another state. We have known each other since ninth grade (1996) and have been married for almo
st 6 years. I also have a very special 14 year old daughter who is the love of my life and has come along way with her diagnosis of PDD, ADHD and Anxiety. It has been a long tough road but it was all worth it to watch her grow into a verbal, smart, beautiful and creative young lady. I work with children with disabilities and it is right where I feel at home and where I need to be. During my free time I love to read, write poems and most of all take pictures. I like to use my creative side and incorporate that in my photography. My interest in photography started about 10 years ago when I received my first digital camera and I just ran with it. My first subject being my daughter ( who is tired of being in the spotlight). I soon went on to other subjects that couldn't run away or cover their face. I have taught myself how to use the camera and I am always taking myself to another level seeing beauty in things I thought no one had interest in. I couldn't be more wrong. I never had the thought to pursue this interest into something bigger until friends started telling me how great my pictures were and I should do something with it. I would have never gotten this far without my mother and her being the person to purchase and give me my first ever digital camera. Who would thought a gift like that would lead to something like this. I want to thank ALL of you ( you know who you are) for encouraging me to go through with this. I also wanted to thank my husband for supporting me in getting this process started. Not only by giving me his total support, he has taken an interest along with me even getting in on the action of being not only in front of the camera but behind the camera. He is also teaching his self and in my point of view the best way to learn. With all this being said I am trying to stay the affordable visual memory maker for everyone. Often times memories are kept in our heads and in our hearts but everyone wants and loves pictures to show family down the line. After many years of paying an arm and a leg sometimes 2 arms and 2 legs for my daughters pictures to be taken and seeing the quality and posed scenery I regret not doing this sooner.!I love to do this and it's not only about the money to be made it's about memories for you and your family. I am always looking for new ways to improve my quality in photography. With that being said any ideas, suggestions, places, or criticism are very much welcomed. We are learning by trial and error. Please don't hesitate to message me with any ideas or questions you may have :)
